Planning a first one of a kind film festival scheduled now for the Fall of 2023 Would like to use MIRO for the program development any ideas how best ?
I’m looking for practical tips on how to plan a live design session for brainstorming about info architect and content structures. Anyone has experience doing similar workshops in Miro?
I’ve been working from home for a few months now, and I feel like I should feel comfortable at this point. But I don’t. My first month working from home, I was making some amazing breakfasts! Fresh Omelets w/ Fruit. Now, I might eat a bagel. I used to get excited to work on my latest projects! Now I just want to play video games. I’ve read our community tips and feedback on working from home, as well as other good sources. But I still don’t have the hang of this. I struggle to separate work life and home life. I could feel comfortable while working and then uncomfortable trying to relax. Or, I could feel uncomfortable working and then cozy on the couch to relax. Is this what life is like working from home? Cycling in and out of comfort? I’m especially interested to hear what the long-term work-from-homers have experienced :)
I love the comment function in Miro. Tagging people or the entire board works great when you want to draw someone’s attention to a specific area of the board. It’s great that you can hide comments, resolve comments, and view only comments that you are tagged in. Still, when I work with my teams, the comments quickly get out of control and clutter the board. Hiding all comments is nice, but puts you at risk of missing when someone needs your feedback or input. Many of the comments on my boards are good comments, but they are left as hanging ideas that might never be resolved fully, and so they stay unresolved. Has anyone developed a procedure or guidelines for commenting on a board that prevent comments from getting out of control? Things like: when to comment tagging rules when to resolve a comment moving from comments to action (develop the ideas behind a comment on the board using templates) Some best practices or guidance in the area of commenting would surely be helpful, what do y
Hi everyoneWe’re looking into extending our product template library, and realised we don’t have many templates that help facilitate team meetings & workshops. If there are any great templates that you use with your team and would love to see in Miro, let us know!
We open sourced a library to template boards and integrate Miro into the company data flow.Miro.com is an awesome online whiteboard for visual collaboration. We fall in love with it right when using it for the very first time! Level 1: Scale up best practices with templatesOnce we started adopting Miro, we learned that certain usage patterns work better than others. Instead of reinventing the wheel with each new board, we wanted to roll out our best practices. What we needed were templates.Miro comes with a collection of pre-defined templates to get users started. Yet, we found that our specific use cases required more tailored templates. Although Miro doesn’t offer user-created templates as of today, Miro does have an API to programmatically create and query boards. So, we set out to explored the API route. We encountered some challenges as the API supports only a subset of what the Miro UI can but by-and-large it turned out pretty well! We can design boards in the Miro UI, convert the
Is no one talking about the Attention Management feature yet? This is so very welcomed and a major feature! Every session for a new group of training or workshop participants, it usually takes a while for participants to learn the "Watch my screen" instruction when I start screen sharing. Sometimes, participants didn't even see the blue 'Join' button (tip: Refresh browser/app if this happens) This Attention Management feature just shortened this entire process! Thank you, @Marina and team, more love and power to Miro :)
Hello all. I am an instructional designer and trainer. In a month from now, my team will be making the switch from the in-person classroom to the digital classroom and we rely on tools such as Miro. Most of our classes are heavily discussion based and there’s a lot of back and forth instructor/student engagement. Has anyone successfully leveraged Miro to serve as a place to direct and field questions throughout training sessions? If so, I would appreciate anyone sharing their successes and set-up. Thanks!

Hey! Let’s discuss what you are currently doing in Miro. UX Research? Design Sprint? Brainstorming session? Maybe just a to-do list? Share it with us, we want to learn more about you and your use case.
Hello I am part of the team that organise the annual innovationfestival.org This event will be an online event this year and I am looking at how we can transition our 4 / 5 day design sprints online. Would anyone be willing to share their experience and ideas around best practice around running Design Sprints using Miro? Do you have any specific tips to our users who are perhaps new to online cooperation. Many thanks Craig Stanley
Hey everyone! Brittni here So happy it’s Friday! I am a podcast junkie and during this quarantine I’ve been listening to so many podcasts and even listening to old episodes of some of my favorites. I listen to podcasts more than I listen to music now which is crazy for me. I’m even starting my own podcast with my friend since highschool (everyone has a podcast ) Here’s just a sample of what I’m listening to: How Did This Get Made (Best Episode...Monkey Shines) Pod Save America RedHanded Newcomers: Star Wars, with Lauren Lapkus and Nicole Byer Comedy Bang Bang Lovett or Leave it In Voorhees We Trust with Gourley and Rust In Myers We Trust with Gyers and Rust Pod Save the World B*tch Sesh Any other podcast junkies out there? What are you listening to?
Hey there, Most companies switched to work-from-home mode several weeks ago. We’ve already shared a lot of resources on remote collaboration tips & tricks in a public whiteboard wiki showed our WFH workspace (add yours!) discussed how we begin and end our work days. But let’s discuss the challenges of working remotely. What bothers you most of all? Anything that you have already overcome? Or maybe remote work is just fine for you? Share your thoughts in the comments, and let’s address those challenges together with the community. For example, my biggest challenge is overworking. I simply can’t understand when I should switch off - my laptop is just in front of me, why not to check Slack, email inbox, or complete a task from the backlog? What works for me (well, I’m trying) close Slack (or at least turn off the notifications and set myself away) at a set time have something scheduled for the evening (a Zoom call with friends or I plan to make dinner) clock off (I mean I finish
Hi Everyone! Overall, what would you most like to take from a virtual event (knowledge sharing, networking, etc)? Jon and I are hoping to spotlight some of your questions a
We are seeing industry professionals who would be interested in presenting at one of our future Virtual Miro User Groups! What is a Virtual Miro User Group? Virtual Miro User Groups, or V-MUGs as we like to call them, are virtual meetups that are hosted by an amazing group of Miro users who volunteer their time to create engaging, informative and fun events for our Miro Community. What are we looking for in a presenter? Miro User Group leaders are always looking for other Miro users who are engaging, charismatic speakers from various backgrounds who are eager to share their knowledge during these community events. What kind of presentations are we looking for? Our virtual events range from collaborative workshops, AMAs (Ask Me Anythings), to simple presentations on how presenters use Miro to help boost efficiency, and more. How you want to present this knowledge is up to you! Past topics have included: Remote Facilitation Best Practices Gamification Qualitative research
On Thursday, April 9th Can Wang and Mariana Almeida from the global freelance organization, Upwork, graciously presented our first ever San Francisco chapter V-MUG on Remote Problem Solving and Ideation. Can is a UX designer and Mariana is a user researcher, together they shared their expertise on how they manage remote distributive work, ideate, and strategize as product developers. The event showcased an introduction to Upwork, a presentation on how to effectively ideate, and a workshop of a mock ideation/brainstorming session with the audience participants. Check out the event recording below! If you’d like to check out more of our upcoming events please check out events.miro.com. As our event community grows we’d love to get your feedback! NEXT and Miro come together to make the 'new normal' a better normal. Our goal with this partnership is to remove any friction from the user experience, so the end users don't feel like they are switching between multiple solutions when trying to get work done. How do I love Miro - let me count the ways My story with Miro begins, like many others, shortly after COVID-19 started to rear its ugly head in Canada. I am senior consultant working for a small project management and agile training and consulting boutique firm in Toronto, and till a month back all of our course were delivered in-person. I don’t actually know how my boss ended up picking Miro rather than some other platform, but I’m very glad that he did pick it. We run a dozen or so public and corporate courses and over the past month my colleagues and I have spent most of our time transforming our exercises from the physical world to the virtual canvas. For some courses, this has been relatively easy whereas for others where we were using Lego bricks and other tactile materials, it took a lot of imagination. We have only delivered a handful of courses so far but the preliminary feedback from learners has been very encouraging and I can see us continuing to offer live virtual cours
Hi, I’m running a virtual event using Miro where we will give our client a virtual tour of our latest digital tools. There will be about 5 virtual tech stands on the board and a presentation at each one explaining what the tools do. I will help the clients navigate around the board. How can I include the clients more and get them to interact live with the person running the presentation about the tool? I’d really appreciate some ideas. Thanks.

Remote work and WFH is certainly growing as countries keep safe from COVID19. A lot of folks are new to working from home. I also know that a lot of Miro users have been doing this for years! So for those seasoned experts out there… How do you “switch on” to begin your work day? How do you “switch off” at the end of your work day? Personally I don’t like working from home because I have a hard time staying focused. So I need to keep routine to “switch on” and start my work day. Get dressed in my work-casual clothes, designate a specific work area, open the computer and turn on a podcast. Switching off at the end of the day has always been easy. Once I clock out and physically close the laptop, my brain knows exactly how to divide work from home life
Hello, I would like to share a video of Tom Solid, who is founder of PaperlessMovement. He shows what the Stickies Capture in comparission with the Post-it-App can do: Guess who the winner is? I know what I can do with this feature but after this video I was impressed. Thank you at miro for creating this!!! Michael
Recently, I’ve been exploring some of the major anxieties that startup companies have. Now, I am led to the question that I think a lot of us have answers to… When starting a new project, what causes the most friction? I’m in the tech industry (mobile apps), which means things keep changing and keeping up with new devices and software makes my job harder. On the other hand, it is the reason I have a job and I love what I do! More specifically, I use Miro to keep organized when I need to manage a change in app logic or update software from one version to the next. But some teams in my office don’t want to use Miro! Which can cause FRICTION!
I’m taking the time to create my BUJO in Miro. I’m a visual person and miss having things laid out infront of me. My tiny bedroom studio in Belgium has shrunk my useable space for work planning. I miss my big wall, I miss my studio. Miro solved my problem by allowing me to spread out and take the space i need to create my mental maps.
Hey everyone! Brittni here to give you a short recap of yesterday’s EMEA V-MUG I know all of us are figuring out the best ways to work remotely these days and so lucky for us we had the amazing Lisette Southerland author of Work Together Anywhere: A Handbook on Working Remotely — Successfully — for Individuals, Teams, and Managers give us some pointers. We learned how to set boundaries, the current state of remote work and the future of remote work. We also got to participate in a breakout room session and use Miro’s awesome voting feature. Check out the video recording! Here are some questions from the V-MUG. Feel free to chime in! Which virtual office tools would you recommend? What virtual team building activities interest you?
