I’m working with an Apple iPad and stylus. Today, something new started happening. When I choose the ‘select’ tool and use the stylus to drag a rectangle shape across the board to select things, it now immediately/automatically switches to the drawing tool and draws a line instead. In related news, when I’m drawing with the stylus in freehand mode (the felt-tip pen icon), it automatically switches to shapes tool (freehand shapes that get converted to official shapes, has a little plus sign on the icon). I don’t want shapes, I want to draw a freehand box and let it be that. I’m in the right tool for it, but it automatically switches tools on me and then converts the shape. I hit ‘undo’ and keep going. Why is Miro suddenly trying to anticipate what tool I need? I’m picking the right tool the first time, it’s changing the tool as I navigate the board. Please help me understand how to turn this ‘feature’ off.
Hello! I’ve been using Miro for years and love it. However 2 weeks ago I’ve started to encounter an issue with my file name getting messed up when exporting my board as a PDF.In the past, the exported file name would be identical to the board name. It was easy. However now, the file name gets morphed with extra characters. It appears that any space in the board name now becomes “%20” in the file name. This is a real nuisance because I need to now rename every board I export (which I need to do almost daily). For example:If I name a board: AB - September 14, 2023The exported pdf file name now becomes: AB%20-%20September%2014%2C%202023 Please advise! What can I do to fix this?
When Miro releases updates, I get these annoying “what’s new” popups all over the screen. I don’t want to see them - they get in the way of me actually using the board to get work done. How do I permanently disable these popups? I don’t see any options in preferences, anywere.
Hello, fellow Mirovocates! I am new to Miro, and interested in jumping in as soon as I can!For those of you who used to create “push” presentations in Powerpoint-- What do you like better about using Miro? How do you think differently about presentations now with Miro vs with PowerPoint? How does Miro work when teaching/presenting to an audience of more than 100? What can you do better with Miro, and what do you try to avoid? If you had one or two things to advise a strong PowerPoint user about moving to Miro, what would they be? Do you have a Miro board that you could share, that you would call your “greatest work in Miro” or your Masterpiece? I learn by example, and would like to glean the best tips to get started. Thanks for sharing your wisdom!Don
Hi ! New here :)I feel an option to add icons of various colors & shapes (not just emojis) , as well as a possibility to add custom tags or labels (similar to what you have with the sticky notes currently) would be a great addition to help organizing a mind map. (see example below)Adding a filter option to only show parts with specifics icons or labels would be great. The ability to quickly export the content of a mind map to another Miro document or in another format would also help. My team and I love using Miro because of the collaborative feature but the lack of those options for mind maps kind of forces us to use something else to take notes and organize our notes & ideas…
Hi there, I started with Miro boards which I use for online teaching about two years ago, when the only option for a single user was to get a two-person membership for USD 20 a month. I¨ve since then tried to find somebody willing to share the subcription with me with no success, only to discover today that for I don’t for how long now, there must have been a shift in the pricing and the Starter pack costs only USD10 monthly! Naturally, I’m quite upset given how much extra it’d cost me over the time, however that’s not the main point… I would like to change the plan now, but I’m scarred that I might lose all of my boards, which would be a small disaster in my world...😄Can somebody please help me??Thank you! Tereza
When I create a connecting line between two shapes and try and move the dog leg line, on saving it snaps back to the default location. How can I stop this happening so when the document saves the lines actually resemble what I was trying to draw…. it’s absolutely infuriating!
Hey! I would love to see tags added to the mind map nodes. At our Lab, we use mind map to structure our user tests process, from the research questions, the test objectives, to the methods and tools, but also to gather and analyze data. And we use tags to indicate many different things: methods or tools we’ll use to look into a specific questions, link participants number to a finding, indicate the level of importance of a finding, etc. And the filtering of those tags is also helpful, for. ex is we want to see what research question will be covered by which method, or to see what feedback a precise participant or group of participants have shared. Right now, we are using MindManager but it won’t be supported by our studio anymore. And anyway, we’d prefer to use a collaborative tool. The only thing stopping us to move to Miro (for mind map) is this absence of tagging/filtering system.
We run workshops and trainings, usually with about 100 frames/exercises. For every class/workshop, these are copied from a template and there’s usually some manual tweaking to be done by the trainer. I set out to write a simple tool that would unlock & unhide all frames, let the trainer make some tweaks, and then run the tool again to lock (in place) and hide (to prevent peaking ahead) all frames.I was surprised that frames are readonly. Is there any workaround to this issue of having to click at least 200 times (lock, hide) to get ready to run a workshop?
Hello all,I hope you are well?I currently have the problem that the field "original estimate" from the Jira ticket is not displayed via the Jira Card on the Miro board. Hi there Miro There is a bug with text boxes. I create a text box. I delete the placeholder content. I type the number 3.The control handles for the text box cannot be reduced or collapsed and appear to be a fixed size. I have tried deleting the board and starting a new one. In the video, I am trying to collapse the text box so that it only shows the 3 with no whitespace to its right. The text box does not allow me to collapse it at all. I did install two randomiser apps; which I have removed - one generated text box die numbers -- perhaps this is the cause? Regardless, whatever I do; it will not allow me to collapse the anchor points on a text box Video (Imgur)https://imgur.com/GJhUoLk Any further assistance on this, would be great. Thanks
Working away quite happily and then the formatting toolbar doesn’t show up , I can’t set Bold Type, or Change the Font of Font Size, It came back this morning for a few minutes, then after a short break, I came back to carry on editing and ! No Show!, I’m not talking about the Sidebar, the popup bar!I’m a fully licensed user, with Owner rights to the Miro Page, but still no joy?Any ideas?
Hi all,I am looking for some guidance on how to link a Kanban chart to a Timeline template. If i create a Kanban like the example below, is there a way that the cards/tasks can be automatically linked and arranged on a timeline according to the ‘delivery dates’ that have been set. Thanks very much for your helpDaniel
Ever since reinstalling the Timer app a few months ago, it continues to show as “new”, i.e., the blue dot, every time I open a board – or when I click on the Present action button arrow: Here it is in action: I opened a support ticket and will continue to report back here as I learn more and until the issue is resolved. Response from Miro support as of 12-Sep-2023:Our team has investigated the UX inconsistency and potentially plans to resolve the issue in a future UX update that is scheduled for the future. An immediate fix will not be provided as the change implemented would have ramifications that could take an extended period of time.Leaving this post marked as [KNOWN BUG] until the issue is fixed.
I thought I saw in the initial video promoting Miro that you can free hand write letters/words on the screen of a tablet (for example), and Miro will automatically change them into proper typed letters. Is this a feature of Miro and if so, how do you activate it? Thanks for any help you can provide!
I am getting Internal Error popup when converting to Jira issue on a board that used to work before. Also not able to pull cards out either. The issue is only showing in this miro board at this time.Even though there is an internal error the issue is still being created in Jira, but not transformed into a Jira card and not linked. We have several people using the integration and are entering our Q planning period and is crucial that it works. What could the problem be? Duplicating the board allows me to use the Jira cards as it should, but not in the specific board. Is there some limit to how many Jira cards we can create per board? Any settings that I may need to change?
