I am running a workshop where one of the tasks of the participants is to formulate a statement around their Vision. I wanted to reach out to the Miro Community to see how others are doing it. This is a simplified summary of my approach: 1. I ask them to fill out a survey where they each are to describe their Vision. 2. I invite them to the board where they get 3 dot-votes to vote on the contributions they think are the best (if it is a 10 people team, there will be 10 formulated Vision Statements to vote on). 3. I ask them to look at the results from the vote, and describe the Vision with 1 word only. This creates 10 words which all are probably very important to the Vision. 4. Filled with insights (hopefully) from the vote and the 10 words, I ask them to come up with an updated version of the Vision Statement using the 1-2-4-All tecnhique. I feel that this creates a lot of engagement during the process, but sometimes people are not ending up with a conclusion they hoped for / feel c
Yesterday was a grounding day. My team joined the Community Purchasing Alliance as they led a zoom meeting of 150+ school administrators preparing to collectively purchase personal protective equipment (PPE) for their schools next year (gloves, masks, thermometers, hand sanitizer). By purchasing together they’ll access prices at a fraction of the cost of buying individually. Yesterday was somehow much heavier and more grounding than big-meeting-remote-facilitation-as-usual. In the break-out sessions we learned just how hard it is for schools all over the country at this moment dealing with so much uncertainty, and so many challenges at once. We bore witness to the courage and resilience of these school leaders in the face of these challenges and felt the gratitude of this network for the coordination… the power that comes from feeling organized as a large collective in a moment that otherwise feels so isolated, bewildering and divided. Hi everyone, I will be running my first-ever 20-30 people workshop on Miro and I would love to hear any advice you guys could give me! I’m lowkey worried that it would be laggy, but I don’t know - I’ve only tried working on it with 10 people at once so far (this morning) and that worked fine. But other than that- does anyone have any tips to share? So far, I’ve thought of (and prepared) the following: Separate “Google Hangout” meeting links to allow for different groups (there are 2-4) to split the discussions, so that they can be free to talk amongst themselves. (Me as the floating facilitator, I’ll jump from one “call” to another to provide help where necessary. Provided working templates separated into 5 sections for each of the groups (i.e. Information Download, Idea Brainstorming Area, Affinity Mapping Area, Voting, and Idea Conceptualization Area) along with instructions & examples positioned at the start of each section. Adding “individual workspaces” with pre-made set of po

Cooler than cool! In reality, sticky notes and flip charts can possibly be transmission tools! As facilitators and trainers, what can you do to be prepared for COVID-19 prevention once you head back to classrooms? Use a Miro board in the classroom and keep the conversations inclusive and opinions diverse. The image above explains itself. This is an Agile Marketing training workshop conducted by 2 of my close partners based in Holland. While this may be de rigueur way of working for some of you, I personally never thought of this even though I had trained my partners on using Miro for online facilitation! What's missing is perhaps (and for bigger classes) individual screens for each group that can become "group flip charts". It will be interesting to see how this can be configured in a classroom to accommodate Miro screens. A common technique used in many agile meetings is Fist of Five voting, where everyone raises their hand showing 0-5 fingers indicating a range of agreement. How do you do this well using Miro? One of the most important parts of this technique is to identify who has low confidence so that you may start a discussion. I can put 6 cards in a region and use the voting feature, but the Miro voting feature seems completely anonymous, so I would have to get the low voters to speak up to identify themselves. Does anyone have another technique to vote and more easily start the right conversations?
Dear community, today I am happy and excited to be able to share with you 2 blog posts related to the topic of remote work. Since it is an all-time-hot topic, I believe for some of you it will come in handy and serve as a good guideline and source of information related to remote work. We are in the outsourcing/offshoring industry, have been working as a distributed team for 3 years, and are currently fully remote. We shared some insights about our approach towards managing remote teams and ensuring business continuity in our first two blog posts. http://q-xperience.com/blog/ Give them a read and we would highly appreciate any feedback that comes our way :) Thank you
Hi @Marina and fellows, I’m wondering if the Miro community could be built on Miro itself? Curious to hear your and others’ thoughts on this.
Want to try an original jigsaw puzzle that I created in Miro? Do share your other fun Miro ideas too!
I have been working from home for almost 3 years now and it has been a struggle to find that lucrative work-life balance. Previously, I was in a 1 bedroom apartment and I had to work at my dining room table or a tiny space in my living room and it was hard to get away from work at the end of the day and I experienced intense burnout. Recently I moved into my first home (YAY!) and it was a MUST that I have my own office space and now I feel so much better. I know not everyone has this luxury but you’ve made it work. So, I’m asking that you share your WFH space. What makes it great? What do you wish you had? Any tips to make a non traditional work area well...workable? Here’s mine. I’m obsessed with Funko pops and they keep a smile on my face. My “co-workers” also keep me sane when I’m alone in this room most of the day. Looking to get some artwork soon! Some of my co-workers
It’s time We’ve already started sharing photos of our pets in different topics (for example, here is @Kiron Bondale’s puppy ). Let’s collect all of them in one thread! Leave a comment with a photo, write a name of your pet. Funny stories are welcome As for myself, I used to live with the cat Listik (a Russian word for a ‘leaf’). My story is not really funny: one day I became allergic to cats and dogs and rabbits (maybe somebody else), and I had to find a new family for my amazing, playful, tender, beloved cat. I can’t express my love to him! But we had to split up
i am running a workshop with non-techie managers. does anyone have a cheat-sheet or short presentation to tell them all they need to participate in brainstorming, inserting text onto frameworks, and stickie creation/movement? and zooming in/out to find items.
Tips and Tricks for Diagramming: Shapes & Lines I feel your pain. You can see the whole complex system in your mind… but your hand just can’t get it out into Miro fast enough. Miro is brilliant at making diagramming easy and powerful, but some of the coolest features to help this aren’t immediately obvious. Here’s a round-up of some of my favorite tips and tricks. We’ve all been there: You’ve hyped it up, and now you have to earn the “wow!” What’s your best go-to, mind blowing Miro trick?
Not sure if this feature has been rolled out to everyone yet or not, but the new selected object filtering capability is pretty cool. The ability to select a large number of objects and then just pick the specific type of object which you want to remain selected is very useful. However, I have just one question… what do Dark Elves (“Drows”) from Dungeons & Dragons have to do with Miro ?
Hi Everyone, Happy Friday! I hope everyone has had a nice week 🙂 I myself have admittedly NOT gotten the hang of working from home. I feel a bit guilty as we’re on like day 84 of quarantine where I am in California and I still feel like I haven’t nailed down a solid working routine. For me, I just get so easily distracted throughout the day - my work days sometimes go as late as 8 or 9pm to make up for the feeling of not being as productive or as focused as I’d like to be during the day. What has helped you guys stay focus? Any tips and tricks would be very appreciated!
Hey community! I’ve recently started a new project to plan out a potential offering and I wanted to share how I’ve used wireframes to visualize some early concepts. Making use of both the website browser and mobile device wireframes together. I’d love to see more uses of wireframes to learn how other teams plan digital layouts. Also happy to answer any questions about my use Webpage Browser and Mobile Device Wireframe Mockup Example
Hiya! Since @SpartanGomez and @Stephanie Nakano already shared their passion for gaming in the past, I thought it would be cool to know each other a bit better. What're your hobbies apart of the primary career? What do you like the most? As for myself, I’ve been deejaying since 2006 and making the music events for the last eight years. Under these circumstances, I brought more than 30 international artists to Russia and built an active community of 11,000 music lovers — 170bpm.ru. As strange as it may sound, I spent about the same time to learn how the human body works, so I usually handle the support role for my colleagues and friends if they need advice on training or nutrition. My latest love is surfing and at the moment I’m working on my project to help people to prepare themselves for this beautiful type of physical activity. Looking forward to hearing your stories behind the job :)
Hi everyone, As both a Geckoboard and Miro user, I wanted to share this tip as I think it’s a super-handy way to make sure the team can access key metrics throughout the day, even if your team is fully or partially distributed. Full disclosure, I work at Geckoboard as the Tester, and use Miro to facilitate my teams retros. I’d like to share this as someone who has used Miro. I’ve always wanted to embed key metrics in a place where I know everyone can see them. What is the challenge or problem this resolves? Communicating key metrics to everyone in a fully-distributed team. What is your solution? Embedding a live metrics dashboard in Miro. Normally we have this up on a TV in the office, but given we’re all remote now, I’ve found a way to embed it inside Miro. Now the team can quickly see the metrics we care about. These are the important steps to do this: In Miro, click the more options menu at the bottom of the toolbar. Click Paste iFrame code from the Apps window. Switch t
Hey everyone! Wanted to give you a recap of our latest EMEA V-MUG! On February 20th we had Oana Chisalom, the Instructional Design Lead at UiPath share with us how her team uses Miro to quickly and effectively design learning experiences with remote Learner Journey Mapping sessions. Here’s a question we had from one of the attendees: Have used Miro for mapping learning journeys before, but do you have tips for going beyond basic storyboarding with sticky notes? Would love your input! Also, if you’re interested in watching the recording click here!
Hi, I am starting learning Miro. I am a certified coach and would like to improve my on line sessions with my coachees. I think Miro could help me with a disruptive way to interact with him/her. Any idea or suggestion ?? Many thanks !!
Wanted to share our next community V-MUG "Learn a Triad of Agile Techniques With Miro!" with @Kiron Bondale happening Tuesday, June 23rd at 3:00pm PST. It'll be a fun and interactive event catered around learning agile techniques with an informative collaborative element! Whether you are part of an agile team or leading one: This session will teach you how to use Miro to help your team make decisions, size work items in the backlog and understand the many benefits provided by a flow-based delivery approach over a traditional batch-based method. You will work as part of a small team to complete three exercises that you can later adapt for use within your own organization. This little widget blue handle for auto-layout-distribute is awesome!! Send my appreciation to the team behind this feature! Thank you. Align + distribute flow between horizontal or vertical ( like a transpose ). YES!!! I have faced this layout challenge so often!!! In fact just earlier this week with a client I needed this … and had I had this tool I could have demo’d something on the spot, but without it I had to stop the flow of thought, put a pin in the exploration and say “I’ll reorganize these horizontally and get back to you.” HA! Bravo Miro! Keep it up.
Hello awesome Miro Community. I wanted to relay a problem I am having around creating and maintaining a Table of Contents (TOC) on my boards. After seeing @Jeremy Pollack in the NORAM VMUG: 05 create links from one object to another, I immediately thought it would be amazing to create references on my larger, more complex boards in the form on a TOC. When the team loads the board, the view centers on the TOC and folks can navigate easily to the area of the board they want to work in (or to a different board altogether). Then, in major or key areas of the board, I can create a “Return to TOC” link and now my team can jump around with ease. My initial proof of concept using this method worked amazingly well, so I am confident there is an elegant solution here. The issue that has come up is that once you have linked to an object or group of objects on the board, if you change that object, the link is no longer valid, and the TOC stops working as intended. On the board I was working on,
Hello, How can Miro help manage a complex project with multiple milestones, checklists and roles and responsibilities? These projects can span months and years. They many times have multiple phases and external vendors who have deliverable and timelines.
