Hi all! What about limiting the graphic tools available to guest editors to a configurable minimum set? Sometimes Miro newbies or occasional users might mess up the Miro board by inserting graphical elements other than sticky notes or what is just needed to carry out the activity. This happens quite often to consultants that work with inexperienced and always different users. Despite the activities to prepare for basic use of Miro, users often mess up and need to take action to remove what is not needed. What do you guys think?
When working together with others on the Card type element, which pops open, there is an irritating problem. Often we use the Card type as part of a story map and together we discuss the contents of the card and make changes.Problem: Unless the screen is shared, there is no way to know or see if someone has that card open. That kind of defeats part of the purpose. Especially if you use the Miro video chat, you are not able to open a card for everyone to see and discuss together. How do you work around this? Only way I have found is to take a screenshot and paste it mid-screen.
I am using Miro as a graphic designer. I am aware that when an element / elements are selected, one can press escape to deselect all. My wish would be to also be able to press cmd shift A, as this is the Adobe shortcut expression for deselect all, and something I use reflexively.
We’ve started utilizing the “User story mapping” template across many of my squads. However as we are refining, doing working and it eventually becomes done we see a lot of clutter. We utilize the JIRA integration as we use that for daily updates etc. Would it be possible to add a feature so that things which are “done” will be hidden after x-amount of days or can be filtered out or can be collapsed. It’s really nice to have all of it in 1 view for communicating progress with stakeholders. But with too many stories visible at the same time it becomes noisy.
Dynamic frames could be cool. Contents like kanban boards expanding outside of the frames
When I select text on a black sticky, the highlighting of selected text is very low contrast.e.g. selection highlight on a non-black stickye.g. selection highlight on a black stickyI would love for the text-highlight to have more contrast against the black background!
Would like to manually save a version of a frame before i continue to edit it.I work with a lot of system flow diagrams, they constantly change during discovery. Would be great to save a version as “System flow 1.0” , and then keep working on 2.0 instead of having to copy the frame and hide it out of sight.
I use mind maps a lot to plot big hierarchical structures.I wish that we could have more options for aligning the child nodes of a parent. Currently it's only possible to select either vertical or horizontal and that becomes applied to the whole tree. Would be nice if we could achieve something like the below:
I often need to align child nodes to each other, but now they are just automatically aligned to each parent (with a fixed distance).I would love if I could automatically align each level, as well as sometimes opt to skip a level. Please see image below. On the right side I aligned things manually but I would love to be able to do it automatically or more easily.
It would be great to have a Marketing Cloud template including all icons to design and document our journeys and automations.
When re-using components in our designs we use the Link To feature - and this is fantastic because we don’t need to duplicate designs and it’s easy to see that a component is linked to something else because of the arrow in the top right-hand corner. But, when the Target component is deleted, there isn’t an indicator to show that this item is no longer linked to anything. It’s only when we actually click on the arrow that we receive an error saying the linked object has been deleted. With multiple users working on the same board it’s difficult to track when a linked (target) component has been removed. This means designs can be broken and nobody would even realise until a user clicks on the source component to follow the link. It would be great to have either:a list of broken links when we reconnect to a board; or change the colour of the arrow (on the source component) to indicate a broken link This would allow us to easily identify broken structures and quickly resolve design issues.
Radar charts (aka polar, spider, or spiderweb charts) are a powerful tool for visually comparing things according to a number of different common variables - e.g. the strengths & weaknesses of different members of your team, competitor or product analysis, etc.But alas Miro does not provide a way to create them, so another tool (e.g. Excel, Google Sheets, etc) is needed to generate the chart to paste into Miro, and then if the underlying data changes you need to do it all over again. Please add native support to generate such charts from a table of values to Miro. Here’s a good guide to how to use them, etc https://datavizcatalogue.com/methods/radar_chart.htmlSee also a previous expression of interest for adding support to Miro at https://community.miro.com/ask-the-community-45/radar-chart-creation-6696
It would be great to have a tool students can use easily to collaborate on math assignments.Something similar to this tool: https://www.mathwhiteboard.com/getting-started-with-mathwhiteboard/I find that Latex is hard to learn for first year students, especially if they are not studying math or math related subjects. Math should be fun, so easy access for all students with MathType or other simple math editors would be great. In my opinion, the mentioned tool lacks some other features. Thanks!
Talking about sticky notes to which you can add information inside of them Everything goes one board Frame 1A huge roadmap that shows all plans and why they are important (what key results we want to achieve and so on)On this frame I will use stickers such as:Sticker named “onboarding”Text inside the sticker:“Introduce to the team provide access show where is a coffee“ Frame 2A much smaller board dedicated to sprintsAt one moment I’ll use the same sticker that I have on a roadmap (Frame 1)Sticker named “onboarding”I would want to update text inside the sticker THE FEATURE: while I’m updating info inside the sticker on Frame 2, I want info to be updated on the same sticker (with the same name) on a Frame 1So every linked (with the same name) sticker will contain exactly the same info
It would be nice to have at least one monospaced font. It would be very helpful to format JSON, XML, etc. I guess it is not very difficult to implement.Thank you.
Hello, As a researcher, I often use Miro for virtual group work around sensitive topics. The ‘show author’ feature, that anyone on the board can use, removes anonymity and stifles open, creative expression. Without a way to turn off this feature, I can’t use Miro for sessions where were looking for feedback or tapping into more sensitive topics. For example, I have a session about vulnerability at work that I am leading. For a week before that session, we will have the Miro board open so people can enter in what makes them feel vulnerable at work, and then there will be a workshop to discuss and solve. However, if anyone can click and see who wrote a post it note, it completely removes anonymity. Choosing whether to show yourself, or be anonymous, is a huge benefit of Miro, PLEASE ALLOW BOARD OWNERS TO TURN OFF ‘SHOW AUTHOR’, so that anonymity can be maintained when desired.
As I’m managing some requirements in Miro as opposed to a bulky BRD, it would be helpful to have scrollable shapes. My thought is that if you select a shape with text that extends beyond the shape’s current height, a scrollbar could display on the right, indicating that you can scroll up/down. Scrolling is an integral part of navigating around a board, so this would only be possible if you have the shape selected; not just hovering over it.
When I select the Attachment field to be displayed on the Jira cards, I can only see that the attachment exists. I can’t see or open or access the attachment in any way. Can we get a way to see the attachment when opening the card? Or at least make the attachment block a CTA to the attachment link?
Hi,We have recently integrted Miro with JIRA Data Center and we love it.However, some fields on JIRA are customized to how html formatting instead wikimarkup and the fields on miro show the html code instead of html formatted text.Is it possible to add a feature to also include HTML formatting on fields? Thanks,Jason
Emoji bar not showing the right-most emoji and cannot scroll to that side
Participants would have a more limited set of available functions than editors, but more than commentors.Participants can add more sticky notes and add emojis, participate in voting, turn off cursors, but cannot unlock or move or add frames, shapes, text boxes, connectors, etc. Restricts to just the very basic functionsAlternatively, allow to alter the settings for editors to toggle on or off miro functionalities.
It would be great to be able to do more with the information across card fields. For example, to arrange them by due date, or map the dates on to a gantt chart, calendar, or timeline, or use the tags to sort them. Right now it seems like for the most part the information in the context fields can be searched like any term can be searched, but they can’t do much else within Miro
I just saw the Estimation app and I thought that’s what I was after but after reading it, it’s so close but not quite.Use case: When I create value stream maps, I need to add some type of number (quantitative measurement) that represents the process. Is there a way I can select specific widgets (stickies or objects) and get a sum?Below is an example of my use case:I’m trying to see how long our current process takes vs a proposed new process. The number in each yellow sticky represents hours. Is there a way to get a total?Obviously, I can do this in my head but I have another value stream map that contains over 20 widgets that need to be added up and before I try to convert that info into excel, I’d like to see if this is a possibility instead or any ideas on a work around. Thanks!
