Recognition of handwritten math expressions

It would be great to have a tool students can use easily to collaborate on math assignments.

I find that Latex is hard to learn for first year students, especially if they are not studying math or math related subjects. Math should be fun, so easy access for all students with MathType or other simple math editors would be great.

In my opinion, the mentioned tool lacks some other features.
