Education subscription expired and locked out of my boards

I have a series of boards created on an Education subscription. I no longer have access to the original email used to set up the account as it was linked to the course that i was taking. I have a Miro account linked to a personal email and am a Team member through that profile on the boards i want to access.

The boards are currentlt all locked as the education subscription has expired. How can I gain access to these boards?

Hi @JWF1,

Thanks for reaching out!

First of all, I’d like to assure you that you can still log in to your Miro profile and access your boards even if you no longer have access to your old email, as long as you remember the password for that profile.

If your boards were shared with others, you can ask them to invite your new profile to those boards. Once you have access, you’ll be able to duplicate them and move them to another workspace if needed.

Additionally, if any of your boards were publicly shared, you may still be able to access them through the board link. You can check your browser history or email inbox for links. If you can open the board, you may be able to take screenshots or export the content, depending on the board’s settings.

I realize these are workarounds, but I truly hope they help! If you need further assistance, you may also consider reaching out to Miro Support for additional guidance.

Let me know if you have any other questions! 😊

It’s worth noting that, just because you have access to the board, doesn’t guarantee that you’ll be able to duplicate the board, e.g., the board’s content copy permissions could be set that only the board owner can duplicate/copy content (or the team members… or team members with editing access):
