[RESOLVED] Poor image resolution when pasting image to Webwhiteboard board

I am facing a problem like in the gif below. When uploading any image, after uploading, it becomes very poor quality. What could be the problem?

Update from Miro support [RESOVED]:

When testing and replicating the issue on my end, I experienced the same issue. However, it now appears to be working as expected and images are pasting with the correct quality. Could you test this again on your end and let me know if you're still experiencing the issue?

Was it helpful?

@maxim_wise - This Feedback speech bubble being in place of the frames sidebar action immediately catches my attention:

Is that a part of your Miro UI, or the software used to create your GIF?

How are you accessing Miro? E.g., what OS, device type (laptop, tablet, mobile), and if browser, which one?

Also, if you have a paid Miro subscription, you can open a Miro support ticket by following these instructions:

@Robert Johnson Yes, you are right, it is not miro, it is webwhiteboard. I'm just comfortable using disposable boards with my friends and hopefully I can get support on this product.

I am using webwhiteboard on windows via firefox.

Based on network requests, I am getting a 403 error when accessing the miro api with create file request.I think that's the problem, but I don't understand why I don't have access to the miro api.

@maxim_wise - Thanks for confirming.

I tested and am getting the same results - Windows 11 64-bit.

I tested in Chrome, Edge, Firefox in regular windows and private/incognito, so six tests, and the only scenario where the image is not blurry is in an InPrivate window in Edge.

I will open a Miro support ticket and respond here with what the support team tells me.

@Robert Johnson

Thank you so much for your reply! Anyway, I think I was able to find an alternative solution, miro lite or https://miro.com/online-whiteboard/. It seems to be exactly the same as webwhiteboard, with exactly the same functionality. But personally I have all the pictures loaded on this site and no problems with accessing the api.

Hello.

I am experiencing the same issue now. Never happened before.

The pasted image is first clear then, after 2 seconds, it becomes (and stay) blurry.

I could not understand how this was resolved, hence my reporting.

Thank you.

  • Kindly share a short video reproducing the issue you encountered

We look forward to assisting you!

Sorry for the late reply. It seems to be fixed now, but I don’t know how.

It happened on the MacOs Software version. However, the Ipad app had the image clear in the meantime.

It is now clear on both devices without any particular action on my part.

Thank you.

Hi @oninjadigitall,

Thanks for jumping in on this thread!

Have you tried the following:

  1. Check if the issue is reproduced in incognito (private) mode and a different browser
  2. Disable the browser extensions. Sometimes they clash with Miro processes (e.g. Grammarly with the text widgets).
  3. Check if the issue happens on other browser like Chrome
  4. Kindly share a short video reproducing the issue you encountered

Hope this helps! Please let us know how it goes.

I’m sorry. How is this problem resolved? It still happens in my case and nothing helps!

and no, I will not use incognito in order to be able to paste images.

Hi @Jannnnn

I understand that it’s frustrating to run into this issue when it was previously marked as resolved. The issue is not reproduced when I replicated it.

I want to clarify that part of the troubleshooting steps is to try it in incognito mode not as a solution, but to see if the issue persists there. If it doesn’t happen in incognito, that suggests something in your standard browser—like extensions, cached data, or cookies—might be causing the problem. Identifying that can help us find a lasting fix for your regular browser setup.

If you’re not comfortable using incognito mode, here are some other things you can check:

  • Clear your browser cache and restart the browser to see if that helps.
  • Try a different browser (even if just temporarily) to check if the issue is browser-specific.
  • Make sure your browser and Miro app (if using the desktop version) are fully updated.

If the issue persists, could you share:

  • What browser and OS you're using?
  • Whether this happens with all images or only specific ones?
  • A screenshot showing the issue?

Thanks for your patience! 😊
