I’m Dimitri (Jim) Antonopoulos — I’m the Managing Director of strategy and innovation consultancy Tank in Melbourne, founder of MarchFirst leadership academy. I also write a weekly journal on creative leadership and a podcast called Fearless conversations. But most importantly, I'm a father of three.

Love the Miro platform and looking to explore how we can weave it into what we do and model some of our own tools onto it.

Hi,

My name is Terrence, and I am a game developer for Avalanche studios. It’s a Swedish company, but I work in the NY office, and am a native NY-er (though I have worked in TX and Sweden for a few different gaming companies and many years). I am the lead of world design team, as well as an experience owner for a growing multidisciplinary team, ranging from code, scripting, world building, and environment art and audio.

My studio loves Miro and I it is one of my main tools for development and collaboration, so I have a vested interesting and making Miro the best it can be. (so far its one of my favorite tools!). Looking forward to listening and contributing to this awesome community.

My name is Rob Johnson. I’m from Kingston, Ontario and moved to Regina, Saskatchewan in 2008 where I am currently working as a business systems analyst on an IT solutions delivery team for a large Canadian insurance company.

I first discovered Miro when it was RealtimeBoard in March 2018 while searching for a tool to create process flow diagrams; a tool that would give me more space to work with than Visio. With a background in web development, I immediately fell in love with RtB/Miro as it just seemed to do whatever I wanted it to do. And if if something is missing, I know it is only a matter of time before the feature pops up. After years of using Miro, I enjoy giving back and answering questions on this community forum, not to mention learning something new myself every time I do.

When I’m not working or contributing to the Miro Community forum, you can find me cycling, running, playing guitar, taking pictures of the cats, making bar soap, or travelling as far as I can during these pandemic times.

Hello all,

I’m Brian and I work with the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) in Amman Jordan. I’m the Regional Learning and Development Specialist, and I’m beginning to explore how we can use Miro to convert some of our face-to-face trainings and induction courses into online deliverable products. I’m already having a great time testing out some ideas (with our People and Performance Management course), and have high hopes that this can make our trainings engaging, participatory, and fun. Miro is going to be transformational for our online trainings (if we can overcome bandwidth issues in some of the remote areas we work in.)

I’m happy to share ideas.

Hello, my name is Bairon Cardona, for more than 20 years I have been working at the Montessori School in the city of Medellin (Colombia), I worked as head of the area of the mathematics department and I am also a physics teacher in the upper grades.
I have met Miro basically forced by the pandemic and searching the internet for a good alternative for virtual work with my teachers and my students. Miro has seemed great to me, now we are managing its acquisition for the mathematics team, as it would be very supportive for our interactions and solution of projects and ideas, in addition to allowing us to work with students.

Hello all!

Very excited to be in this community because I fell in love with Miro ever since I got introduced to it.

And what I do now is closely related because we integrate with Miro!

I run a company called Toasty <https://toasty.ai/> and what we believe in is that there is a lot of room for better collaboration experience virtually and so we go out to solve it- from planning, to collaborating, to summarizing. It should be rewarding and easy to collaborate online.

Hi everyone

I’m Paul Cunningham.  I work in Cardiff in the UK for Audit Wales.  We are the external auditor for most of the public sector in Wales so we work on behalf of the citizens of Wales to make sure the Government spends their money fairly and efficiently.  Our motto is ‘ Assure, Explain, Inspire’

We’ve just started using Miro as part of our Data Analytics function, which as you can imagine, is a growing area of work for us.  I’ve used Miro boards so far to do research, design systems and share ideas.  Here’s an example.

One of the valuable features is the ability to share a board with colleagues and work on it together in real time.  This has been particularly useful during this year’s pandemic!

I'm John K and a virtual team leadership coach having been an on and off user of realtimeboard but never really got serious. Now I am and using it for coaching 1-2-1- and groups. Now that my clients have accepted that virtual team working is here to stay and online coaching is actually pretty fabulous.
My vast sticky note covered walls in conference rooms can be replaced by a miro board and everyone gets to interact and stay engaged.

Hi everyone! I’m Dan - an entrepreneur and community-builder based in Amsterdam. 👋

I thought I was new to Miro, but discovered I had been using a (RealTime) board 6 years ago for my startup - to collaborate with my distributed team.

I’m someone that loves to brainstorm and plan visually, so it’s super cool to see how Miro has developed, and to discover all the cool new capabilities (as well as finding this community)!

Over the weekend I used Miro to map out books that I’ve read and I recommended (it’s a work in progress - let me know if you have feedback on how I could make it better).

Hello,

My name is David and I am a software engineer in the US. I was looking for tools to help with some personal projects I am working on and discovered Miro as a tool for organizing brainstorming notes and design documentation. So far I have been very happy with it and am using it to help with development of a video game I am making as well as a web application for the knitting community as I am also an avid knitter. Yes I am a guy and I am a knitter, guys knit too :wink:

My fiance and I have also recently started a podcast around knitting and it’s use as a form of meditation to deal with medical conditions and help with mental health and stability. We are also attempting to use Miro as a way of organizing our segments and what we wish to discuss on each episode.

If anybody has any suggestions on tools or methods that might help in any of these endeavors, it would be appreciated as I’m new to Miro.

Hi Everyone

I work in health care as a vocational therapist. Me and some colleagues have been using MIRO to support our clients rehab since the UK had its lockdown. Its been a really exciting journey that we have been on with lots of positive feedback from clients. We have since been using MIRO for a range of things from the usual team based activities, careers guidance, occupational therapy and even putting on a remote inclusion fayre.

I would love to know if anyone else has been using MIRO to deliver any therapy or social care based activity.

Hello Miro community!

I live in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, and lead a small team of UX designers focused on creating digital educational solutions for higher-ed institutions.


As we have a distributed team, we started using Miro last year for our product design workshops (brainstorming, prototyping, etc.). Our team loved it and now the tool became an important part of our collaboration and design process. 

Hopefully I'll gain extra insights while exchanging experiences and learning with and from you.

Hi all

I am Danny. I am a professor at the Institute of Development Studies at Sussex University UK. My team focuses on the development of participatory methods in the service of transformative change against injustice in the world. Miro has proved to be a brilliant way of translating some of these methods into an online environment. We used Miro recently to run three week-long participatory strategy workshops with three different country teams. There is still a lot to think through about how this online environment can enhance participation and where it inhibits it - so we will keep reflecting on our experience.

Gleichzeitig ist Miro eine sinnvolle Möglichkeit die Inhalte einer ICE-Session (VDC framework, CIFE Stanford) zu dokumentieren.

My name is Elliot, and I’m going to be the leader for the soon-to-be-launched NYC Chapter of Miro!

 

I couldn’t be more excited to learn from you all.

 

A little bit about me (in bitesized, bulletpoint format!):

  • I work in marketing innovation for Unilever, specifically within the organization’s beauty and personal care portfolio. I have been in this role for close to 2 years now (my work birthday is at the end of October)
  • My background is in acquisition and growth marketing for all kinds of businesses, from SaaS to marketplace to edu-tech. B2B, B2C, DTC, whatever!
  • My current work passions are around innovation, both externally (products and services) but also internally (process and methadology). For the past year I have been laser focused on building experimental cultures and removing inefficiencies from innovation processes.
  • I love to geek out on running workshops, design thinking sessions, anything that involves getting a group in a room with a whiteboard to solve exciting problems
  • When I’m not working, I love to cook and hangout with my Pandemic Puppy, Tahini (I’m sure if we end up talking, I’ll send you 12414523525 pictures)

Right now, I’m working on a few passion projects to address pain points among women gamers. In the Discovery phase, Miro has the perfect playground where I can map out my ideas (especially with post-its) and share them during product whiteboarding sessions. It’s such a versatile platform that encourages growth and all kinds of creativity for CVs, icebreakers, workflows, and even games- BTW, the Gamification V-MUG session was hands down the BEST presentation I’ve ever seen!!! :video_game::joystick:

 

Really excited to join the community and learn more about the “Mirocles” we can make with Miro’s magic! :sparkles:
