    When working with layers, how do you only select items on that layer (prevent auto switching of layer in focus)?Open

    Layers is a good feature. However I find it difficult to work with since all objects are clickable no matter what layer is selected. I would expect the system to allow me to interact with objects on the selected layer only.CTRL + A should only select objects on the selected layer, not all objects on all layers.Am I missing something? Is there a way to do this allready?

    Splitting Full Sticky into TwoOpen

    I frequently max out the text in a sticky. I then have to split the sticky into two by creating another sticky and moving half the text to the new one. I do it so often that I thought I’d request a feature request. Thanks!

    Paid license with time limitOpen

    We use the Enterprise plan for in-house seminars. The administrator grants paid licenses to participants only during the seminar, and changes to free licenses after the seminar ends. I have to do this for about ten people every week, so it's a burden. If you can set the license validity period when granting a paid license, the burden will be halved. Please consider it.

    Problem:Miro throws an error when trying to paste a link such as:zotero://select/library/items/xxxxxThe error message is:Protocol not supported. Use http, http, mailto.Other software (e.g. apple notes) will just open the linked app and proceed resolving the link. Background:I use Miro extensively for my research (PhD student) to organize information from various sources. My main source of information is published papers which I store in Zotero. With Zutilo, Zotero is able to create links to specific entries (as the one shown above). This would greatly help me to connect both tools.

    I wish the timeline would allow a project row to have a bar showcasing time, a pause in the row, and a continuation of the row. Aka - I wish I could have a project running between date A to date B, have a pause on the same row between C and D, and then the bar starting up again for the project from E to F.So allowing a project to run on one row, including a break, without needing to divide the project in two rows

    This could be a challenging UX problem, but it could be oh so useful, and you could even claim it as an AI feature, so your bosses could get all excited about doing more AI hype stuff, which is probably at the top of their OKRs, and then maybe you’d all get an extra pizza party while they go on retreat at St Barts. 😏My first thought was you could enter some kind of mode that allowed you to select text from a screen cap or image. Much like the experience in OSX Preview. Another idea is to select the image, access the AI button, and from that menu select “Extract Text” or something like this, and have the system invoke a new text box with all the text in it. Formatted as similar as possible would be great, but even if it was just plain text in one size/style of font, so we could pick out what we need would be excellent.

    Smart diagram bugOpen

    Hi Miro Team,I wanted to share some feedback about the Smart Diagram feature. Recently, I accidentally clicked “Make it a diagram” on a frame, and it converted all my content into a Smart Diagram object. Unfortunately, there is no option to undo this conversion or to “break apart” the diagram back into individual objects.This caused a lot of disruption in my workflow. I lost the original editable objects and had to restore a previous version of the board, which made me lose other recent work. Copy–paste also just duplicates the diagram object instead of flattening it into regular shapes/sticky notes.It would be incredibly helpful if Miro added a way to: Ungroup or convert a Smart Diagram back to its original objects, or Flatten the diagram so we can keep our content without the diagram logic applied. This would make the feature much safer to use, especially since accidental clicks can currently lock users into a format they didn’t intend to use.Thanks a lot for considering this, it would make the experience much smoother!

    Ability have board versioning and status to allow for publication of final versionsOpen

    Miro is a great collaboration tool but it would be great to have statuses of boards that determine visibility, this would be tied into whether the collaboration is complete or not as an example: Work in progress, collaboration is taking place, board should not be visible to wider group but accessible by members of the collaborating team.  Versions would have minor increments for this statis i.e. 0.1, 02, 0.3 Collaboration is complete and board is fit for publication, date, board owner is recorded and version has a minor increment i.e. 1.0 At this stage the status of published could define a wider group of viewers/editors New collaboration begins and minor increments are used i.e. 1.1, 1.2 access is limited to this version to active collaborators until new major version is published.

    Ability to have basic company standards for metadata for board and framesOpen

    Miro is a great collaboration tool but would be enhanced by the ability to include mandatory metadata such as version last updated and owner.  Whilst this information is recorded for every edit, the owner of the Board may want to create an official version of the frame or board.  When the content is exported this information is lost so it would make sense to be able to add these elements to the board or frame and for the owner to specify the official version and last updated dates as opposed to whenever someone accidentally moved a stickie.

    Publication workflowOpen

    When a collaboration is complete it would be great to have some kind of configurable workflow so that one click could send the board to a publication workspace and set permissions to read only for everyone except owner and admin.   This would really help keep documentation tidy.

    Feature Request – Tab Panel (like Lucidchart)Open

    Hi,Our users are asking for a Tab Panel feature in Miro, similar to what Lucidchart offers.A Tab Panel is essentially a single container with multiple tabs (like “Tab 1,” “Tab 2,” etc.) that lets you organize related content—especially for technical diagramming—in a compact space. Instead of spreading diagrams across several blocks on the board, you can keep everything neatly in one place while allowing viewers to switch between tabs.We have a group of Lucidchart users in our company who highlighted this as one of the key features that would encourage them to move to Miro.This doesn’t necessarily need to be a dedicated diagram element—it could be implemented in different ways. For example, the ability to group different Frames (Diagrams, Tables, Docs, Slides, etc.), and give Tabs a name.Tabs on eventual “grouped “FramesEven better(to be perfec) would be showing these frame tabs while in Focus Mode, so users can easily navigate between them.  Thanks for considering this idea! Best regards,

    Allow free form Miro AI requests, or at least the ability for to ask Miro AI to edit existing diagrams.Open

    I use AI to make changes and improvements to my work, but Miro’s implementation doesn’t support that use case. I can create new diagrams and artifacts, but I can’t tweak existing ones because the forced structure prevents me from doing what I want.  As an example, I have a small diagram, and wanted Miro AI to add a legend based on the color coding I set up. Not possible. In order to invoke the AI, I have to tell it what kind of artifact to product, none of which are make changes to the current diagram. I tried one just to see if it would figure out from context what I wanted, and instead it forced it into the shape of a new diagram, which was useless.  The forced structure of artifact shape severely limits the usefulness of Miro AI.

    I had to search the internet to figure out how to come give you feedback, which seems a bit ridiculous. You will get more feedback, and in context feedback, if you add a simple way to share feedback (bugs, ideas, etc) within the experience, while users are working on boards.

    Super and Sub script textOpen

    In engineering and science, super and sub scripts are a very essential elements. Right now, the only solution I have found are using unicode and copy and pasting images or existing text. Miro also erases the super and subscript formatting coming from other apps.

    I LOVE!!!! the timeline component Timeline & toggle to table is AMAZING! 😍The cards and the fact that you can drag them into the timeline are great! My wishlist items:  If the cards could contain a phase/type so that I can sort main activities to this type/phase I would be in heaven! Tshirt-sizing. I see that the card understands the sizing, but it does’t show up in the table….

    Timeline SuggestionsOpen

    Hi there, I know you are still working on the timeline as you launched a beta version so far. Here are a few suggestions as part of my usecase which may contribute to its further development. I will also post a photo of how I am currently using a self-made timeline in Miro. 1. My team and I are working on different projects simultaneously, therefore it is of main importance to me to list all ongoing projects rather than clustering by user story, feature etc. Each project has a different color, which is portrayed by the legend on the left. When using the timeline provided by Miro I can make use of the “group” option to display the different projects and use the colors provided. For each group I will use one color only rather than mixing them. As Miro only offers a choice of six different colors, it is not sufficient for me - as you can see I need about eight different colors. 2. Within my self-made timeline I am using the option to change the transparency of the color in order to create a fade-out effect. The fade-out effect of the bar symbolizes the future. I am making use of this to better visualize at which stage we are at the present time (end of August as shown in the example) and when the task is supposed to be finished and how much more time is left. As I am presenting the timeline every three weeks to all relevant stakeholders, it would be nice to somehow indicate the present stage. It doesn’t need to be a fade-out effect, maybe just a red line that can be slid across the overall timeline to help indicate the present stage.3. I am also visualizing important milestones such as the launch of a project (as you can see in the photo with project 5). Obviously it can be added by oneself with emojis and other functionalities in Miro. I can imagine it can overcomplicate the timeline provided by Miro, however I felt like mentioning each aspect of my usecases. 4. Every three weeks I am saving my self-made timeline as a PDF to send it to the relevant stakeholders. Therefore I like the timeline compact, so my stakeholders can access the PDF easily and catch everything at first sight. Zooming in and out is almost not necessary. When I am using the timeline provided by Miro, I can of course also download it but it is not as compact. When using the timeline for a whole year, the timeline provided by Miro stretches out when saved as a PDF, therefore it is necessary to zoom a lot to the left and right. I already really like the option to choose between displaying the timeline in days or weeks, which is perfect when using in Miro. But for saving it as a PDF, it might be nice to make it even more compact, maybe by sorting it by months or something? That’s all. Thank you so much for your time! Maybe this will help. I am looking forward for the timeline and everything else to come in Miro.

    Searching in focus modeOpen

    It would be awesome if the search function would be integrated into the new Miro features (timeline, kanban, table, diagram) to search for specific entries when in focus mode. The current search function only works for the entire board which makes it quite difficult to search for specific entries in the table for example.  My use case: I use these features to host all the actions within my project and with the global search function it's not doable to search within these actions.

    Creating a reusable timeline templateOpen

    It would be fantastic to be able to create a repeatable project timeline using the Timeline feature, where you could add a milestone date and the other dates would calculate for you. Alternatively, to be able to add a numerical field for days out from milestone that would calculate the task start and end dates.

    Editing the overlapping part of shapesOpen

    I would like to be able to highlight the part of a shape that overlaps (or does not overlap) with another shape. For example, I want to change the color or switch the outline from solid to dotted for the overlapping section.Example: Suppose you want to draw attention to the part of circle “B” that lies outside (or inside) circle “A”. That section of circle “B” could be highlighted by using a dashed or dotted outline, changing its color, or applying other visual effects. However, as it stands now I have no possibility of doing that.

    When desktop app is installed, opening a Miro link in the browser should not load the board in the browserOpen

    Today when I click a Miro link in an other website/app (like Slack or a wiki) the miro board opens both in the browser and in the Miro desktop app, which is loading content twice.As I have the desktop app installed, it would be great if the Miro link opens the board in the desktop app, while the browser page can be something simple, or still offer the option to open it in the browser.Other apps do something similar:MS Teams → https://it.queens.ox.ac.uk/2020/12/07/ms-teams-connect-as-guest/Zoom

    Ability to convert stickies as sub-tasks to existing Jira issuesOpen

    As a PM/developer, I want to be able to convert stickies to sub-tasks under existing Jira issues so that I don’t have to manually create the sub-tasks directly on the issue in Jira.We currently use blue stickies as sub-tasks in backlog refinement and sprint planning. We typically have 3-10 sub-tasks for every user story which needs to be manually created under the issue in Jira directly breaking our workflow in Miro. It would be game changing to have the ability to select these stickies individually or in bulk reference an existing Jira issue to convert to sub-tasks.
