The single biggest missing feature for me in Miro (and Mural, Stormboard and other competitors) is I often want to facilitate a group activity where we each come up with a unique response to something (like a design challenge / problem / etc) and it’s a problem if we can all see what each other are doing in that moment, because it’s distracting and influences what we do. I see my teammates copying each other, perhaps because our societal culture encourages that so much, even since school. I want an option on the timer to make only your own activity visible, until the timer is up - then your teammates’ work becomes visible. Alternatively, ‘private frames’ inside which we can work - toggling on / off the contents from private / public on the board. So when it’s private, the frame looks empty (or has text on it saying ‘contents currently visible only to Luke Flegg’ - that could open up sooo many new use cases.
Hi there,I like the User Story Map Framework quite a bit, but it has one major constraint for me. As much as Jeff Patton suggests, that there is a story map for each persona, I made a very positive experience in my previous professional work with this approach (and yes, I had actually discussed this with Jeff once in person and he wasn’t so much fond of the idea of multiple personas in one map). Imagine not just one row of tasks, but multiple, each one preceeded with a persona name to which it is related (day-in-the-life-of-persona-x).Then when creating a user story, you select to which of the personas (related to a task) this story belongs. By this you can get a holistic picture in ONE story map and prioritize an MVP / iteration across personas. Anybody up for multiple personas in one map? BTW, I had created a tooling for this with working students which had some dependent features likehide/unhide stories belonging to persona X - if you want to concentrate on one / view multiple for better overview export user stories belonging to a) a persona b) a usage sequence (which is a structural element above the activities c) an iteration to JIRA / XLS,/ …Best, Achim
I can broadcast data in a widget by using: miro.broadcastData({ value: 111 })I can receive this data by using: miro.addListener('DATA_BROADCASTED', e => { console.log(e); alert("weeeeeeeeeee!");});If we could send data to the same widget on the same board for other users in a similar way, then this would open a lot of new possibilities to develop collaboration tools for the marketplace. At the moment I can’t find any way to let my widget communicate between users.
Hello! An idea that would make the experience better (hopefully!) would be to push the history of hyperlink clicks to the browser history, so that it’s easier to navigate the board.E.g. when I see part of the board with a link, follow the link and then click back button in the browser, I’d like to go back to the original view (before clicking the link). Thanks! Kacper.
There are 2 ways to present frames in miro. Non-fullscreen mode - what you see when you first start the Presentation Mode from the bottom-left collaboration toolbar Fullscreen presentation mode - what happens when you use the “Present” button. In the first way, the linking to other objects is working. But in the 2nd way, when you click on the Present (play) button, the browser goes into fullscreen mode and clicking on links to internal objects will take you to the spot on the board, but the screen will be black. It will be best, for the linking to work, even in the full screen presentation mode. The benefit this adds to the user is that during presentation, user could navigate to the links(basically other frames) which need not be chronologically listed in your presentation frames order and come back to the page you want to present by clicking on another link.
I would like the ability to group items that are located in different frames. This is currently not support and creates a confusing experience.
I really want to be able to classic Time Tracking tasks. It delivers not little hassle to jump between MIRO and third-party applications for collecting statistics on spent time. For those who have a wage hourly, it is extremely important. This is the basis of all work.
I love the ability to reach a support agent from inside an application. It would be great if I could just click chat/help button on a miro board and be able to connect with a chat support agent.
The same way I can set a starting view I would like to be able to link to a specific view. Sometimes it’s handy to have not just the starting view but other views that show larger portions of the board rather than just a frame. Frame on frames don’t work so well especially when we use different background colours in them. Ideally I’d like to be able to right-click on the board and have an additional context menu “Copy link to current view” next to “Set current view as start”. Then I can use that link on other objects which might zoom in and out.
It would be really helpful to have improved layering. Why not introduce a list of all objects that also allows you to send objects to back or bring them to front (like in PowerPoint)?
Download for guest editors does not always work - I think especially if there are layered objects invovled.I wish we could set permission to dowload for objects even if users/team members do not have the permission to copy them.Maybe introduce a toggle on/off feature for download?
With the introduction of the new timer, the duration has been limited to 100 minutes. This is fine for groups working simultaneous. I really like to be able to have asynchronous meetings and collaborations sessions, lasting up to 4 or 5 days. In thes meetings, collaborators can work at their prefered moments, within the time limit set. Please (re-)enable timer settings up to several days, counting down in days, hours, minutes and seconds.
Hello,I would like to share this feature request. At the moment if you are using a mouse you can select/deselect or interact with single objects (unless they are in a group), zoom in or out and pan around. But one thing you cannot do is selecting multiple objects I would like you to consider adjusting the mouse navigation mode (or adding a new one or an option to customise it) where the left mouse button is not used for pan, but instead it is used for multi-select (as it is now for the Trackpad mode) and have the middle mouse button and/or the right mouse button for pan around. This way you can navigate and make simple edits with just one hand if you are using a mouse. Thanks,Marco
After product mapping, the next exercises are usually sizing, prioritization (versioning) and confidence. Those information are then used in excel to have a view on the size of each version and also to ask budgets for the projects. However, except with the tags, there is no way to have those information on the sticky note, that could then be exported into excel. Also, the number of tags is limited which is blocking. It would be extremely handy to have the ability to add fields on the sticky notes (free title, free content) that could then be exported in csv.
Hi,often when I’m working I’d like to see:What else have you done on this date … and then I click on the activity list and search for my date thats been shown in the“Infobox”.It would be great if I click on the activity list the exact date of the highlighted arrow / Sticky is gonna be highligthted in the activity list and shows up directly. This would help for the workflow. Need to search for people in our organization to share a board with if they are on a separate team instead of typing their full Dolby email address.
make the image expand to full screen when clicked I mean this behavior
Hi, on a consultant plan and I would like to know if its possible to turn off the Day Pass activations emails everytime somebody activate a 24 hours pass ? After looking in the notification options, its look like there is not available option for this kind of features. Thx
When I’m facilitating a workshop with first time Miro users I’m currently only giving people comment access to a board rather than edit access. To run the equivalent of post it noting activities, which is most of what I do with non-design, business folks, I get people to comment on the board and then have a co-facilitator copy these into post its to they can be viewed. This is because, in these types of workshops, it’s in no one’s interest to have access to icon libraries and shape tools, frames, templates and so on. At worst I’m going to have participants go rogue and play around with other tools which disrupts the activity, at best I’m going to have some participants who are put off by the complexity of the interface. At very very best I’m going to have random arrows everywhere as people unwittingly click on the blue dots around a post it note.I’m proposing a middle ground between ‘comment’ and ‘edit’ access - ‘collaborate’ mode. Ideally as the board creator I would get to choose what functionality I allowed for participants in any given session. The minimum feature though would be post it notes and commenting only.Simple interface with only the tools people will use = less confused participants/ quicker onboarding into Miro for first timers = more effective workshops.Interested to hear if anyone else has this issue of edit functionality being way over the top for the equivalent of a standard post-it noting workshop with non-designers?Thanks :)
