Problem
I want to use the feature of board embedding in MS Teams / Webex, to have a smooth collaboration experience. And I don’t want to force users to sign in when sharing a board throughout the collaboartion tool. Unfortunately due to our company security guidelines we cannot enable public link sharing, which is the basis of board embedding without signing-in.
Request
Create a separate setting to directly configure the security stages for board embedding on company level:
- Private
- Anyone can view
- Anyone can comment
- No sign-in required
Background
When reading through the manuals of board embedding I found the following statement:
Password protection is not enforced when embedding a board in Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc. Instead, we ensure that the sharing links that are created with those integrations cannot be used outside the app (in a web browser or similar). For this reason, live embed integrations already provide an extra security layer, therefore password protection on top of this is not needed. [link]
Given the described additional security layer that prevents using the link outside of the application. Why is there the need to couple board embedding with public link sharing?
