Hello everyone,

Is it possible to set board members to anonymous so they can't see who is writing what?

For example, is it possible to anonymize participants during a workshop so that no one can see their names (e.g., for a private brainstorming session)?

Thanks you!

@Katharina K. -

Unfortunately there is no fool proof way of doing this if you are having “named users” as collaborators (e.g. full edit access team members). If you use the Visitor access method (i.e. publicly share a board with edit access and a password) and don’t use the option to have collaborators provide their real names, then they would all show up with generic, made up names. Even if they have full Miro user accounts, you could have them use an incognito browser and use the Visitor access method to have them attend the session anonymously.

If that is not feasible, the best alternative would be to use the bulk mode entry approach for sticky notes. With that, they would brainstorm on their own and then all their sticky notes would show up in one shot. However, if someone were to look at the properties of a note by using the right mouse button pop up menu then their names would be visible as the creators of the notes.

Hello Kiron,

Thank you very much for your quick and very helpful response.

So, if I understand correctly, it is not possible to change settings to anonymous and back during one workshop.

Thanks and have a nice day,

Katharina
