The order of the frames in exported PDF

is it possible to export the PDF according to how the frames is arranged on the board

Normally , I will put the frames according to the order it needs to be,so it is extremely inconvenient to move the fames in the sidebar , while you can not even select over 1 frame at the same time to move the order . ( I notice the order of the frames are arranged according to when it is created )

So if you have over 30 frames , you need spend thousands of years moving around the frames just to make sure it is in the right order when exporting ….

Figma is much better when it comes to the PDF exportation ,it just follows one rule -- from left to right, up to top , so if i order my frames according to this rule ,  then the outcome will be the same as the order on the board. all i need to do is just simply keep the frames where they should be .

Absolutely. I’ve found arranging the frames left>right, top>bottom in the drawing space, then clicking organise frames in the frame sidebar helps put the frames in the desired order for presentation. (no need for manually moving frames in the sidebar)

However an attempt to export these frames (already organised) as a PDF jumbles the order entirely.

I’m guessing its exporting them in order of “time of frame creation”?? (can’t confirm)

would greatly appreciate a solution to this issue.

Thanks.

You can click on the three dots in the frame view and click on “Organize Frames”.

This will put the frames in an order, and the PDF will also be exported in that order.

However, the order is faulty: It seems to take the ending point of the frame (lower right corner) as an indication where the frame should be positioned in the list. Then, the ordering algorithm goes through the board from left to right and from top to down and orders every frame by their occurance (=lower right corner of the frame).

I like to use nested frames (overview, then several slides within this overview frame. Some of these slides have a “detail” frame within). So the best approach should be:

  1. Take the upper left corner of the frame as a point to define the ordering.
  2. If the frame has other frames within, it should arrange these frames in an order after the parent frame, beginning from left to right and then from top to bottom.

This ordering mechanism would then lead to a clear and (mostly) correct arrangement of the frames.

Why not just make it export in the PRESENTATION order by default?
