Enabling SSO for Miro app

I’m looking to enable a dynamic link from our inhouse developed app (which uses AWS Cognito for identity verification) to the Miro app. I have found some info on configuring SSO for AWS https://help.miro.com/hc/en-us/articles/360014798100-How-to-Configure-AWS-SSO but can anyone advise if this also works for the Miro app?

Hi @Debbie Watkins,

I’ve asked the Support team, and here’s what they suggest:

It sounds like you have created your own Identity Provider application which you want to use for SSO. Your application will need to support SAML 2.0 protocol as that is the only protocol we support at this time. We recommend following this article which is the more generic article and goes through the fields and values configured in your IdP as well as needing the sign-in URL and the x509 certificate from the IdP to be pasted in the Miro SSO settings.

If you have further questions, I’d recommend reaching out to the team directly.

Hi, we want to use SSO in the company for Miro. For whom does SSO apply at Miro? Only for members or also for guests? We also have some guests - can they still register?

Hi @R Thomalla,

Great question! At Miro, SSO applies to team members within your company who are part of your Miro Enterprise or Business plan with SSO enabled. However, guests (external users who access boards via invitations) do not authenticate through your SSO provider.

Guests can still register and access boards based on the sharing settings you choose, but they will log in using their own credentials (e.g., email and password or their own SSO if their company uses it). If you need tighter control over guest access, you may want to explore Enterprise Plan guest controls, which allow you to manage external collaboration more securely.

Let me know if you need any further clarification! 😊
