Some Frames force text boxes to align, others allow arranging

I have a frame to which I added some text boxes. After a while the frame would force all text boxes to align to the left. If I try to move them, they just rearrange, but still snap to the left. I can no longer place them wherever I want inside the frame. The frame now forces objects to snap into alignment.

These boxes only have one resize dot in the lower right corner and not in all corners as usual. I also can’t rotate those boxes any longer

I don’t know why this started, can’t stop it, and can’t replicate it. But it seems like a feature, not a bug, and I’d like to know how to control it.

@Brian Fulghum - It looks like you have turned on grid mode in your frame. You will want to switch back to freeform.

@Robert Johnson Amazing. thanks. it’s a great feature I wasn’t actually seeing yet, and it was there the whole time.
