stitching shape types

Does anyone know how you switch a shape from “flowchart” to one from “basic shapes”. I only seem to be able to switch shapes within the same collection. I tried searching for a shape but all it shows is a message “try searching in diagramming app”, which I then tried and this does not work either

Hi @greylight,

Thanks for reaching out!

After testing this, I found that shapes can only be switched within the same collection (e.g., from a Basic Shape triangle to a Basic Shape rectangle). However, switching between collections—such as from a Basic Shape to a Flowchart shape—is not possible.

That said, you can still place different shape types (Basic, Flowchart, ERD, etc.) on the board and connect them using connection lines. Please refer to the attached screenshot for reference.

Would you like a different function for shape switching, or do you have an idea that could enhance Miro’s functionality? I suggest submitting them to our Wishlist - https://community.miro.com/community-welcome-guide-14/wish-list-everything-you-need-to-know-1099.  We’d love to hear your thoughts!

Thanks for your answer. It seems to me a strange limitation to place on the product ( of which I have found many, limitations that is). You can mix and match shapes from different collections but you cannot then switch them.
