My board but no access

I have, due to separation of job, consulting mandates and other projects, worked with different email addresses (different accounts) for using miro.

Last summer I have created 2 large boards for myself which I haven’t used since then. Now I struggle to open them again. I am not sure which account this was about and the boards are not shown in miro anymore.

I managed to retrieve the links to those 2 boards but when trying to access them the message is that I am not the owner (with that account). So, I request access and get the massage “Request has been sent” but on none of my email accounts I get this request message. How can this happen? Where are these requests being sent to? How can I claim ownership and open my boards again?

@Marita - This is an unfortunate side effect of Miro’s freemium model where it was very easy to sign up for free and then invite others to the product for free. However, as you have experienced, it was just as easy for someone to delete you from the team, therefore leaving your boards behind in that team.

Your only hope now is to try to trace your steps back to who first invited you to Miro and have them either add you back to the team, or have them set the board’s Visitor access to “view”, so you can duplicate the board to another team space.

I have the same problem: I was the owner, but when I open the link to this board, I am no longer the owner, and I can't find any request anywhere.

When this happens, and you are certain you are signed in using the account under which you created the board, then what has likely happened is that you have since been removed from the team to which you belonged when you created the board (and where the board still resides).

You will need to be re-added to the team and have the new board owner either share it with you or transfer ownership back you to, or figure out who the new owner is and ask them to share a copy of the board with you outside of the team.

Unfortunately, for privacy and security reasons, when you receiving the above message, Miro will not share any details of the board with you.

No, I have not been member of a team. I am the one and only user - without a team in the back.

Hi @Ulf01 and @Evgenia Harbuzova,

Thanks for your patience!

I understand how important your boards are. Losing access to a board could be because of many reasons: Your access has been revoked, the board was deleted, or the Admin removed you from the team where the boards was created or stored.

Here’s an article where steps are indicated on what to do for specific error message/scenario: https://help.miro.com/hc/en-us/articles/5225385943954-I-can-t-access-or-edit-a-Miro-board

If that does not help, I recommend submitting a ticket

Hi, I have exactly the same problem. I am the one who created the board and also the only one who used it. The board does not appear on my dashboard anymore and as soon as I open the saved link, it tells me that I don´t have access to the board and need to send a request. I also contacted the Miro support, but they told me that they don´t help with this problem. I already tried everything and don´t know what to do anymore. Has anyone found a solution to this problem?
