I have been using the smart drawing feature for a number of years. Now when I use it, I get a popup about AI credits and that I need to move to an more expensive plan.
Why has this feature been lumped in with AI and is it normal to move features around and ask for more money when they have been available on cheaper plans?

Sorry to hear about your issues. I wasn’t able to replicate this on my end, using a Free Plan. The pen tool links to the Smart Drawing tool and correctly converts drawings into shapes. I followed the prompts in this Help article.
If this doesn’t work for you, can you provide more details, such as your setup and screenshots, please?
