Linking a Kanban to a Timeline template

Hi all,

I am looking for some guidance on how to link a Kanban chart to a Timeline template.

If i create a Kanban like the example below, is there a way that the cards/tasks can be automatically linked and arranged on a timeline according to the ‘delivery dates’ that have been set.

Thanks very much for your help

Daniel

Hi. I see this request is rather old. Unfortunately I couldn’t find an answer to this question myself.

Is there a way to synchronize multiple task planning tools on a miro board so that they show the identical tasks?

Hi @Maximilian_17,

Thanks for following up on this thread!

Great question! While Miro doesn’t have a native way to automatically sync Kanban cards with a Timeline template, there are a few possible workarounds:

  • You can add custom tags to your Kanban cards (e.g., "Q2 Release" or "Sprint 5") and then manually position corresponding milestones on a Timeline.
  • Using filters, you can highlight specific tags to view related items across both tools.

If you’re looking for a fully automated way to sync tasks across multiple planning tools, could you share more about your workflow? For example:

  • Which specific tools (e.g., Miro Kanban, Jira, or Trello) are you using?
  • Do you need real-time updates, or would periodic syncs work?

Let us know how you'd like to proceed. 😊

Hi Eca. Thank you for following up on my question.

For this exercise I created a miro kanban and miro timeline. So my question was with regards to these specific visuals.

My ideal solution would be a connection to microsoft planner / Tasks. I know that this is currently not supported.

As a workaround I will try if i can link Planner with Trello and Trello with Miro 🤪
