Edit width/height of multiple rows/columns so they have same size

Related products:Mapping & DiagrammingOther

Sometimes you want two or more rows/columns to have the exact same size, so it would be really helpful if you could select 2 or more and be able to expand or reduce its width/height at the same time, like you would do in Excel.

Was it helpful?

Need this!

I agree this is important. I use swimlanes frequently and it is not possible to get all the swimlanes the same size at once. I also don’t like that it doesn’t give you a clue when the sizes are all the same size like it does when you create shapes.

If you are talking about table rows and columns, I’d love to have this, too.

Would also really enjoy this feature

Yes pleease.

Would be a great feature!

Can’t believe this is still not realized. This is so intuitive when I try to resize one row or column, it should affect all selected rows and columns. Like in Excel

Hello Miro - Where are you at on creating this simple and necessary feature asked for 2 years ago?

The behavior you mentioned is more specific to spreadsheet software like Excel, where you can select multiple rows or columns and adjust their size simultaneously. This feature may vary depending on the software you're using, and I recommend referring to the documentation or help resources of the specific spreadsheet application to explore if such functionality exists and how to utilize it.

I would like to have this functionality… +1

@jason statham
Your correct but Miro doesn’t have the ability to set row height or column width on tables. Or at least a button to perform the task of making all the row heights and column widths evenly distributed.

This thread is asking Miro to please add a similar functionality as Excel to adjust row heights and column widths to evenly distributed column width and row heights to create a balanced table.

For example, I am making a RACI matrix and my company preferes it is created via a Miro Board vs Excel. I have 50 rows and 10 columns and need to manually align the column widths and row heights by eyeball. We use Miro for 70% of our deliverables, wirefreame layouts, Sitemaps, Kanban, etc. The remaining 30% are desigs/mockups made with Adobe XD

Miro - Why haven’t you at least responded? Many people need this, myself included.

How is the innitial post 3 years old and the only thing you as a team say is, “please upvote”. Please fix this.

Please fix this! This is a feature that will make working with Miro as an event planning platform much more useful!

Must have feature!

We often create diagrams that span several dimensions. Since tables/swimlanes are naturally two dimensional, the ability to segregate additional dimensions through widths/heights of the rows/columns would open many new, clean diagramming possibilities.

Hi everyone,

Thank you so much for your ongoing feedback and passion for this feature request.

We’ll be reaching out to our team to check on any updates regarding this feature. As soon as we have more information, we’ll make sure to update you here.

We really appreciate your patience and your active participation in our community. Thank you for being such a valuable part of it!

Must have, definitely!

When adding a table it’s always way too big but here’s the workaround I’ve been using to make all my rows the same height until Miro adds the feature:

1. Create your table
2. Delete all rows except 1
3. Make the remaining row the height you want the other rows to be
4. Click (+) and add all remaining rows

Please add this feature!

Our team uses Miro for a great deal of our work and we often need to create tables (grids) that look professional enough to include in client-facing documents. We generally need to resize rows and columns many times as we don’t know how tall/wide they need to be until we’ve started populating them - and even then we’ll often need to change them multiple times as we edit the text etc. At the moment we have to change every single column/row manually and try to make them the same height/width just by looking at them, without any markers or clues. This is really difficult and results in a lot of wasted time, and tables that don’t look good/aren’t user-friendly.

I would appreciate an update as soon as possible about where this feature request is up to.

Came here hoping to learn how to do this. I guess I’m going to waste 20 minutes adjusting 100 columns one at a time instead.
