    Retain highlighted text formatting when copy/pasting.Open

    I’m working with long blocks of text from a transcript, where I highlight the quotes we want to keep. Sometimes I need to cut the copy from one place and paste it to another on my board. However, the highlighted portions disappear, which means I have to double my workflow. Is there a keyboard shortcut that I’m missing here to retain formatting? Seems like an incredibly basic feature that should be included, as it bogs users down with duplicative tasks that are tedious.

    [Invite editor] Change default to "Add to this board only"Open

    When inviting others to a board, the default setting is “Add them to the team and they will get access to this board and all boards shared with the team”The other option is “Add them to this board only” which would be nice to have as the default option.In most cases, if you want to grant access to all boards in a team, you will add the user to the team instead.

    Keep showing individual comments when zooming out (as before)Delivered

    The handling of comments in Miro has recently been changed, so that the individuel comments are replaced by counters when zooming out. Please introduce a setting allowing the user to revert to the previous behavior. We need comments to be shown individually when zooming out. We also need to easyly view the colors of the comments, so we need to view the original comment labels, not the bigger round avatar "things".We use color coded comments to denote things like status (eg. green for completed). For example, the green comments in one of our boards means "ready for testing". We have large boards with many such comments. We used to be able to easily pick out comments by color at a glance when zoomed out. But now we have to zoom in and inspect each and every area of a large board to find them. This turns a one-second task into several minutes-task, completely ruining our use case.

    Revert back to the old Comment UIOpen

    The new comment icon on the boards is far to big and intrusive.  Seeing a person’s face is distracting. And the comment icon is so big that I have to take time to get around it.

    Importing mind maps from other softwareOpen

    I’d like to replace my current mindmap software (Coggle) with Miro, but I could’nt find feature to import files in a mind-map related format (like .mm or .vsdx)It would be cool not to rewright all my maps from the scratch ! Could save a bunch of hours 😝

    Intelligent Canvas - Layers x Connection LineOpen

    When you use the Layers tool, one suggestion is to make a new Connection Line called Dependency. It would auto-create a layer called Dependencies in the Layers menu when you connect 2 cards or sticky notes using this new Connection Line.Food for thought.

    Miro is good website. However, the Chinese font supported is not enough. Please add more Chinese fonts, i.e. Kai font Thank you.

    "Buttons" in the board.Duplicate Idea (closed)

    Button with deeplinks.I use links a lot in my boards. I don't like it when sometimes the board is so big and when I add a link to a shape, I have to zoom in to click the arrow that shows up at the top edge. I think it would be great if there is a way to have buttons with full clickable area, mainly for purposes like this.

    Ability to Hide as an EditorOpen

    We know that you can hide frames as an owner of the board but we’d like the ability to hide frames as an editor of the board. That way editors can hide/unhide their frames as needed. The permission for hiding/unhiding frames can be locked to the person that hid the frame and the owner of the board.

    Option to turn off tooltips in iPadOpen

    It would be great to have a simple option to turn off the tooltips. I have had many problems with them not disappearing, following me around the board as I move or obscuring the toolbar making options “unselectable” (This has been reported separately and is being looked into)But even when they’re working properly it would be great to just be able to turn them off, as they’re a touch distracting and unnecessary once a user has got the swing of things (and then we can always turn them back on if something changes in the way we use the board.)Many thanks!Duncan

    Please increase the character limit for text boxes. I often have to break up sections and orient them vertically, but it is cumbersome and breaks up my workflow. This is pretty much one of my only real pain points with Miro. I realize there are other issues on the topic, I have upvoted them, but wanted to create another issue to drive additional visibility.

    Embed JamboardOpen

    Miro is pretty well integrated with Google products, but one that would be very useful is to integrate with Google Jamboard.  Many teachers are now using Jamboard instead of physical whiteboards/chalkboards while we teach virtually and in hybrid environments, so if we could embed a Jamboard into a Miro board, where we already have all of our other instructional content, that would be very useful.  It could/should work similarly to uploading Google Slides or PPTX, where we can scroll through pages/slides right in Miro. Thanks!

    Identify smimlane when using BMPN whilst zoomed into a processOpen

    A feature which identified the name of the swimlane without needed to zoom out would help maintain a good flow when reviewing a diagram. This could be achieved by having the swimlane name appear above your cursor when it is left hovering within the blank space of the swimlane for more than a second.

    Different permissions for different frames?Open

    I’d like the ability to set different permission levels for different frames. For example -- create a presentation with some whiteboard frames for breakout groups during the presentation, and then give participants full edit permissions on the whiteboard frames while having only commenting permissions on the slides. I’ve experimented with workarounds for this using the “Lock” feature. You can lock some frames but not others, but all locking seems to do is prevent someone from moving or resizing an item. If a user has edit permissions for the board, then locking a frame still allows them to draw on it. Conversely if I set board permissions to comment-only, then there’s no way I can see to allow users to draw or add sticky notes to part of it.  Maybe the solution is to give some more gradations to what “locking” does? Like there’s a “full lock” mode which prevents any movement or additions to a frame, “move-only” locking that allows editing but not movement, etc.?

    Correct Quotation MarksOpen

    It’s a small but important thing: whenever I wrap text in single or double quotation marks I am getting the straight inch marks instead of the “curly” – and proper – quotation marks (here it is correct, btw.). Given, that everything else is so well designed, this is a strange oversight.

    Locked Mode that still allows selecting connector linesOpen

    Currently you can lock a board so you don’t accidentally move objects as you scroll around, which is really useful for complicated boards with many connector lines. However, when locked, you can’t select the lines to see where they go, which is also really useful for large, complex boards with many connector lines. It would be awesome if you could still click and have the points on the line highlighted even when locked but still not be able to move it around without unlocking.

    Please make integration Miro > Asana possible, would mean a world to project plannersOpen

    We currently have an integration that allows for one way import of Asana task to Miro, however, this is just the opposite way for integration to be useful to more project & campaign managers.Miro is a perfect tool for brainstorming and prioritizing, so the first stages in the process.Ideas in the form of a post-it could be selected for execution and moved to Asana, which many companies use to assign tasks & overview progress. Unfortunately, now, only the other way around is possible, which is just a big loss.I am sure that the integration working the exact other way would be much more valuable and if done, I would start using it immediately in my team. Plus, I will be a big promoter of this sort of integration to other people managing complex tasks, offline and online.Please contact me if you need additional information, I am willing to support you with feedback and ideas.

    Make Board Thumbnails Copy/PastableOpen

    our board overview is a visual mess even as i try cleaning it up occasionally.  I basically love grid view, because it allows a fast visual overview.  i am not happy with the random default icons, because they create lot of confusing clutter.  so  i usually create thumbnails from content clipped from the board.   We often have multiple boards per project.  so i want to these boards look identical in the grid view.i understand that i can load images from disk and could have some shared library on some shared drive to keep them consistent. i would love to have something like copy thumbnail and paste thumbnail in the context menu of the boards.even more, it would be supercool to have some versioning or board type overlay.   e.g. have text fields to enter labels like  Preplanning/Planning/Production/Support or May/June/July or Concept/Design/Engineering  on top of the thumbnail.and of course this view should be zoomable, like in tools like miro :)

    Board Selection TabsOpen

    my menumy work involves jumping between many projects. Call me lazy, but i often do not close boards, i just switch to the next relevant. Its amazing how much stuff miro can hold.The upper area of my miro workspace looks like this.As a UX designer i have the follwing observations:i can basically not read the names of the boards. i can guess some. the elipsis dots take a lot of valuable space without providing value i find myself closing a board when trying to select it.   this is against all rules. boards which have been recently reloaded just say “Miro”. i need to click/load them before i can see if this was worthwhile. if i follow a naming convention like “PROJECT - boardtype” or “CLIENT - PROJECT”  (which could be super useful as there are no folders in miro, and which translates to many other use cases (folder names etc.)) the menu becomes even more unusable.any ideas on that?

    Topic information for QR Stickies AppOpen

    I really enjoy using the QR code system to add stickies from users. However, I’ve struggled when trying to use that system at different times in the same meeting. It would be really helpful if the mobile interface the QR Code leads to could identify the name of the frame the stickies would go to. This way, people know if they’re posting stickies to the right spot in the presentation/meeting. In my ideal use case, I would “name” the frame with whatever question or input I was asking for so the user, having scanned the QR Code, would still have the question in front of them. On the public/shared screen, I could then move away from the question and we could watch people’s responses populate.

    "Link to" links should support copy and pasteOpen

    I create multiple exercise templates within a single Miro board, to copy and paste from, when I create my workshops. I looked at updating workflows by adding links inside an exercise to easily go from the description to the board or the work areas. When I copy the entire exercise to somewhere else on the board or to my working board for the workshop, the links still link back to the original and not to the new copy of the destination for the link.This would be similar to how the templates actually works. The reason I don’t use the built-in template function, is that I have about 60 exercises and 30 ice breakers, and that is just too many individual templates to manage. I am thinking I might use the templates for standard workshops though.

    Need to allow for views of objects.Open

    In Notion and Coda you have database views. Similar to that we should be allowed to have different views of objects on the board. For example if you have a bunch of stickies which have multiple tags. We may want to group the stickies based on the tags. Then stickies having multiple tags should be duplicated (synced) and stored under the cluster for a particular tag.  This should not only apply to sticky notes - but to other objects also. The user should be able to create a synced copy of the object and place it elsewhere.
