It would be really helpful to be able to open and view the contents of multiple cards at the same time (even just two). It would make it easier to review if items overlap/link and to cut and paste text across cards.
In a mind map, it would be nice to be able to have text associated with a URL. For example, the editor for this post allows me to associate a URL with text (see below) like this
It would be helpful to be able to limit serch by frames rather than across the whole board - working with a team of 5 service designers we have created several large service blueprints on one board (not to mention personas and several other artefacts, and making change such as changing a term is difficult because search currently returns every instance across the whole board. Cheers Robert
https://community.miro.com/ask-the-community-45/ability-to-rotate-the-board-for-easier-drawing-8162?tid=8162&fid=45 Unable to find the idea for this, so I’m submitting one. Would like to be able to rotate entire board view screen to easier read/draw
Hey,I was just wondering why it is not possible to open the board overview in a new tab, once you are in a Board. It is not possible to right-click the “miro” logo in the upper left corner, and so you cant select “Open in new Tab”…Would be pretty useful! And is hopefully not that hard to implement ;)Greetings,Lasse
I’ve been creating a user story map using ‘User Story Map Framework’ template. After revealing and expanding the user stories for multiple releases, the user story map becomes quite large in Miro. Idea:There should be a way to hide a release in the user story map, or even just to move a release to another user story map. Workaround: Thanks to @Rob Johnson make a copy of the whole User Story Map, rename it (e.g., the release number/date/etc.) and then delete everything that was not part of that release.
I’m a big fan of Miro especially because of the ease of use and the speed with which results can be achieved. To work as quickly as possible I use a lot of keyboard shortcuts. Because there is only so much that a person can remember and do with one hand I didn’t really require more shortcuts than are available at the moment. But… For an increase in productivity and also some fun I recently purchased a Stream Deck. This is basically a keyboard with 15 keys that change function based on the context. For instance if I’m in Teams I can mute the mic, toggle video and blur the background. When I’m in Miro the keys can be programmed to add a note, text and even (un)lock objects. All of this is based on the keyboard shortcuts the application provides. So now you must have an idea of what I’m going to ask. I would like a keyboard shortcut to the most used features. For example:If I’m working on a flowchart I would like to have a Miro Flowchart page with a buttons (shortcut) for the most commonly used shapes. And if I’m looking for an icon then I want to open the IconFinder. Etc, etc, etc… I only need this to work in the desktop app because of the way the Stream Deck determines the context.Because of al the options that would need a shortcut I can imagine that you want to use combination like this:S (Shapes) + 1 (first shape) = S1 (square)S (Shapes) + 3 (third shape) = S3 (oval)A (Apps) + 3 (third app) = A3 (Iconfinder)…You could add a delay to determine if the first char is followed by a second or not. To prevent an unnecessary delay if you aren’t going to use the Advanced Keyboard Shortcuts, it should be an opt-in feature. Easy right :) I really hope you can boost my productivity using Miro and a Stream Deck (or other marco keyboard for that matter)!
I would like to have an option to “split by” on objects, especially tables and text boxes.Table: split by cell boundary = the content of (selected or all) cells is extracted into individual objects (such as stickies)Text box: split by linebreak = each row in the text box is extracted into new objects of the same type The current work-around is really cumbersome, especially with tables (copy-pasting a table to Excel is typically not enough, because the tabular format is retained; I usually need to copy-paste to Excel, then to a text editor to get “clean” text + tab to paste back into Miro to get the prompt to select to convert to individual stickies).
Find it surprising for an app that loves UX they’re dropping the ball on accessibility with labels. A lot of the titles are ellipsis-ed and don’t have any way to view the full text without interaction
In my job as a clothing designer, my whole team does a lot of exporting frames to a pdf so we can send things in emails, print pages, etc. I do this multiple times a day and end up with 10+ files in my downloads titled “Spring Pants Development” and have to figure out which one I need. I know that after the fact I can go in and change the name of the file, but I would LOVE if in miro, when I say “export as pdf” and then choose “smallest file” or “best quality”, the next option could be “title your file”. This would help immensely. The other solution I can think of would be to have it auto generate to the frame title instead of the board title. Thank you for considering this request. I’m sure other people would appreciate this change too!
I wanted to bring to your attention an issue I've encountered with the "Organize frames" feature on large Miro boards with multiple nested frames.Recently, while working on a couple of complex boards, I accidentally clicked on "Organize frames" instead of switching from Thumbnails to List view. These options are quite close to each other, making it easy to misclick. Unfortunately, this led to a significant disruption in the order of frames across the entire board, costing me over an hour to restore. To prevent this from happening in the future, I suggest adding a simple confirmation popup when the "Organize frames" option is selected, asking, "Do you really want to re-organize all frames on the board?" with YES / NO options. This would help avoid costly mistakes due to accidental clicks. While I understand that Ctrl + Z could revert this action, I didn't notice the reorganization until after adding new content, making it too late to undo the changes effectively.I believe this small addition would make the "Organize frames" feature less risky and more user-friendly.
A digest of updates on all boards in certain projects would allow me to customize my notifications without getting as granular as subscribing to change notifications on each individual board. Currently, it’s all-or-nothing to subscribe to change notifications on all boards in our team.
Would be really helpful if tables could be locked so they can’t be moved or altered, but the can still be input into.I’m having to leave tables unlocked so clients can enter text but they end up moving and resizing them by accident which makes them nervous about using MIRO as they think they are “braking” it!
If I share a board anonymously for editing, I need to set a strong password.Every time I open another tool to generate a password which I then save.I then store the password on the board in a note, because I cannot retrieve it anywhere else. Please implement a generator. Just press a button and get your password. Or even better pre fill it with a generated password we can overwrite if we need to. please let the owner see the password which he has set. We need to share it, but we cannot store it rereadable in miroThank you in advance,Lutz
It is quite hard to organize all boards. I am involved in at least 20 boards, all opened in the app, making it hard to navigate among boards. It would be nice to have a page on which we can customize our most used boards to facilitate our navigation
It would be nice to have the ability to open several pages in the desktop app. This would allow us to work in parallel in multiple interconnected boards, when we are using multiple screens.
Currently there's no easy way to split text inside a single Mind Map node into multiple nodes. This is a basic feature in most mind mapping tools. An example use case is as follows: User pastes text containing a list of items separated by new lines. It should be possible to click on that node and trigger the "Split..." operation. The mind map should create a new node for each item at the same level as the original node. Then remove the original node.
This seems essential to me in the culture of feedback.Perhaps I'm going to sound particularly impatient.miro workers may feel this is a waste of time.Community leaders at miro may be "hurt" by my message. What I'm trying to express. Please come and show us that what we are offering you is used for something with a little more than the questions of collecting needs.Challenge us. Most of us are people who have the same product management and facilitation experiences in OUR field with YOUR tool.Invest time in our exchanges. Don't use your facilitators as messengers. Please take this message as a desire to build and not as a criticism
Each project should have its own unique URL instead of everything directing to https://miro.com/app/dashboard/
It would be great to have ROUTES to create different frame sequences ( presentations), so depending on the the users /presenters necessity only relevant frames could be shown but still working on the same board for a project.Even for school projects this feature would be very useful, when different teams of a group use the same board to develop their project and then they. present it on the same class. Routes could be created from FRAMES section with their own name, and selected also when you enable Presentation Mode.
