    Voting functionality to transfer with templatesOpen

    I am working on facilitating multiple workshops and have created a template that allows for voting on several of the frames. My trouble is when I save this as a template and pick it up in a new board all of the voting functionality disappears!  It would be extremely useful to be able to create templates where everything works the same as the original (including links to frames etc in the board). This is especially important when running 10-15 of the same workshop. Looks like I may need to go in and manually add the voting to each of the new boards which is a tad frustrating and time consuming!

    Lock areas of the board that only facilitator can unlockDelivered

    I recognize this would be a large system change. Here is the use case that causes me to request this feature: I am the facilitator of a large workshop. Several participants are NOT digital natives, and yet we want them to be able participate as actively as possible.  There are some visually rich frames I wish the participants to interact with, but their interaction is limited to just a few items or types of items. When participants are new to Miro and not digital natives, something that seems simple to us can be very difficult for them, like “please select that image and move it to the other area of the board”.  Especially if the item I want them to move is surrounded by or layered on top of other items, even when they’re locked, somehow the locked items end up getting unlocked for participants trying to figure out the tool.  I’ve had participants inadvertently unlock and delete entire frames with multiple areas, instructions, columns, etc.  I would like to be able to lock areas of the board that ONLY I can unlock as the facilitator.

    Menu of views creation of your topics (not only start view)Open

    On the board we zoom in and zoom out to the location we want to use / work or show.It would be convenient to mark a frame as a view. All the frames that are marked as a view can be showed on the right sight and must be selectable. With that menu it will be easy to switch from one point of the Miro to another point without navigating in - out, left - right.Now we only can set de "start view”, but during the presentation / workshop i want to switch fast to the next focus point of te Miro.This is already a succesfull feature in Mural "!  (In Mural it is called outline)

    JIRA Cards as Sidebar not Popup, Right click JIRA ticket creationOpen

    Hi,This is my feedback. I’d like to be able to Miro and JIRA together seamlessly and quickly.JIRA as a SidebarI like the idea of interacting with JIRA within Miro, but the popup implementation is impractical in my opinion because when JIRA cards are open I cannot interact with the Miro board.I’d like to see JIRA as a pinnable sidebar so I can still interact with the board and collaborators, and JIRA seamlessly. My goal is to be able to quickly create JIRA tickets on the fly during meetings. For example: Right-Click JIRA TicketsAs a feature suggestion, a “1 click” way to turn a sticky note, text area, etc into a JIRA entry would be nifty. Something like this as an example:  Then the following happens:The “Sidebar” JIRA is pre-populated: Summary as first line Other Lines as detail Comments also added to details (unless there’s a way to actually add then as comments). On Create the stick note is replaced with the JIRA card (or linked back in some other way, eg URL link of the note becomes JIRA entry link)

    Preferred Navigation Mode Switches AutomaticallyOpen

    Based on the hardware you are using at the time your controls switch automatically. Opposed to having to switch per board by going through the settings.

    Cards with points for Kanban boardOpen

    Currently Kanban board only counts number of cards in column per swim lane and each card is value of 1 point. It would improve Kanban board usability if you could also add custom point value per added card. Point could represent hours or just relative effort estimate.Points could also be implemented as special tags added to cards or postit notes. E.g. tag with name “2 points” or “points=2” could be counted. This would not introduce any new functionality but would reuse of existing features.

    Flowchart symbolsOpen

    It would be great to be able to use Miro to create flowchart. There’re several Flowchart templates but they all created by the provided shapes. On the other hand, very common symbols / shapes such as Manual Operations and Manual Input are missing. Please add them as shapes.

    MINDMAP improvements || A powerful tool for researchers / information organizing || APR2021Open

    Hi community, I’m a Phd student and part time teacher at Laval university in Quebec which is looking for a robust and advanced software to gather, visually organize and manage information. A lot of information. This is why I recently subscribe to miro, which I found to be a really powerful tool to visually organize complex information.The main miro tool I’m using is Mindmap to help me structure my information.  Although, as we can see in many posts about this tool in the forum, its very limitative. So in this post, I decided to wrap up many of the critical features requested by the community and suggest some of mine based on my daily workflow. Before miro, I was using the open source software Docear (which stagnates because of a lake of ressources) which has an ‘’advanced’’ mindmap function. Many of their feature appears as crucial to me. REQUESTS:Ability to edit text format of each nodes independently of the Core node  (related post here)  Ability to develop (fold/unfold) hierarchy tree (related post)   Ability to add markers (icons) at nodes (similar to the link function but with icones) (related post here)   Ability to add specific / detailed notes at nodes (which can be fold) (related post here) Ability to link an image to a node (which can be folded?) The last but not the least (I think I will make another post about this more advanced feature), would be to link a node, not to a web hyperlink, but to a file / folder on your computer. Which is extremely helpful to visually organize documents inside your computer (or one of your folder, with subfolders), and have a quick access to it (with this link feature) Now I’m aware these requests implies a good programming job, but so far I’m confident in miro’s development !Regards, Charles Collin

    Metadata tag/customfield on API Team ObjectOpen

    We’re on the Enterprise Plan and have a lot of Teams. We create the Teams automatically using the API base on data in other systems.  Our teams have a lifecycle and are quite often short lived.  It would be really useful to be able to store metadata about the Team in a custom field/ tag on the Team Object to help us know how to process them and manage their lifecycle via the API.thanks

    Lock visual notesOpen

    As a teacher, I would like to use the visual notes section to share general information with my students (e.g. today’s agenda) and I would like to be sure, that students can’t edit it. Therefore, I would appreciate a function that would allow to lock the visual notes.

    Zoom selection tool would make Miro so much betterOpen

    Coming from Sketch, Figma, Adobe products I am used to being able to use the zoom tool to select a specific area then zoom into that area as large as possible within the browsers frame. My team and I have all commented on how frustrating Miro zoom is. At the moment you can only zoom into the centre of a board and when you’re working on a very large board it quickly becomes apparent how much time is wasted having to move around the board once zoomed in. Please adopt a zoom selection tool similar to Figma and make everyone’s work life easier.

    Visual Notes: Make it so multiple templates can be added to the notesOpen

    Hello Miro Team,I was excited to see what was possible with Visual Notes only to sort of have a bit of a let down when I discovered that you can only use one template at a time for a board. Not sure the logic behind this but ideally this is more of an “AND...” situation because I would love to have a Meeting Agenda, a To-Do Checklist and other templates like the Meeting Summary. Thank you for considering this wish list request.Cheers,Milo

    Hide frames from other users but not yourselfOpen

    As an editor it would be nice if I could prepare some content on a board and hide it from other people but I can still see and edit it. This allows for multiple scenarios:Prepare content for a presentation that you don’t want to share yet but still want to share the board itself Make some personal notes for the presentation See whats behind a hidden frame without unhiding

    Generate URLs That Open Directly Into Presentation Mode With A Full Screen OptionOpen

    To avoid having to transcribe the work of our teams into PowerPoint it would be excellent if there were a way to have a URL that open the board in a browser, including a full screen option, so that no Miro skills or knowledge were required to view the “presentation”.

    The AbstractI would like to show duration for a process using a number/duration line, like below: The ProblemHowever, the best I can get is:Aligning and straightening the lines are next to impossible (and sometimes very unruly in their creation and orientation when not attached to objects). Possible, but unsatisfying, solutions:I can use other line terminators (like filled circles), but they are not as universally understood/clear as line terminators for indicating time.

    Dynamic (re)sizing of Shapes attached to the "Kanban Template"Open

    Using the “Kanban Template” with its feature to add further cards and than automaticly resizes ist very usefull. Sometimes the header in columns and rows is not sufficient to keep all the information needed.Implementing the the Function that Shapes, when attached (neather to column or row), follow the size (auto adjust) of the cell (when filled with Cards) when it emerges during work, would help.The Shapes could be filled with any information needed for work (longer titles, Explanations, Icons eg.)Solutions should work this way:How it should work together with the “Kanban Template”Here is an example (Workaround) of a problem that this feature would solve (...and I think there a many more):Workaround with a Standard Table and manually adjusted cards within the cells

    Updatable TemplatesOpen

    It would be a huge benefit if you could create templates that will be updated over all boards if you update the original template.This would give you the possibility to insert objects with information that will be updated regularly without having to find and edit multiple boards where the object is used.To achieve that you could have a new template type or the option “auto update” at the template. If you insert this template in any board obviously you are not able to change it from that board. You always have to open the original template to change it. It basically behaves like an “iframe” on websites and is just a representation of the original template. You would be able to move or scale it, but not to change the objects within it without editing the original template. You could insert the template multiple times in the same board and all occurrences would be updated if you update the original template.Some use cases:Wireframes: When creating wireframes for websites or mobile apps, you can create the most important elements as a template. You can edit the template and it will be updated in all places where it is used. Presentations: You can create a template for company presentations that all your team members can use. When you update the logo or colors all presentations would be updated automatically. Statistics: You can insert statistics like sales figures in multiple boards and can update them from a single template Status Updates: You can create a template for a project status (a red, yellow or green button). If you update the project status you can see the current status in all boards that reference the project status template. Teams: You can have templates with the members of different departments and add them in projects to show the responsible persons. The team template can be updates and you would always have the current contact persons

    "ON AIR" warning on board logoOpen

    When you’re presenting the board to a client it can be problematic when a collaborator enters and his/her cursor appears wandering. Maybe a button : do not disturb showing an ON AIR warning on the logo.

    We use Trello to plan product roadmap (and Jira for the actual engineering tasks), and it would be useful to be able to import Trello cards into Miro, and ideally have a 2-way sync.

    PDF -> next pageOpen

    When I present a pdf file in Miro - I move around using my Wacom pen / mouse. It work fine, but can be a bit “messy”. I wonder if it’s possible to jump between pages in an extracted pdf document?I tried the arrowkeys, but it seems not to work, and there is no information in the help menu, so I guess its not possible - but it would be great to have.Jorgensen

    Lock permissions management for educatorsOpen

    I use Miro to run my entire education curriculum as an instructor. My class is half content and half student participation in terms of activities on the board. Here are a few challenges I run into:I prepare for class on boards I’ve already shared with my students. Sometimes they’re in those boards and I want them to be able to access previous content but not be able to touch the slides/curriculum I’m currently preparing Proposed feature: Student users can create and add but boards created by me are locked for them Sometimes I lock all the boards and students still end up moving them around. In one of my first classes a student duplicated an entire row of slides and shifted it by just a bit - I had a panic as I wouldn’t even know how to address that.  I want to lock things in position to keep students from duplicating and dragging things but I still need certain links to be clickable and accessible Proposed feature: Automatically lock all things except links

    Possibility to select default add-ons for guest editorsOpen

    My organization often works with clients with guest editors function, as a consequence we have to instruct users to download every time the add-ons to be used during the workshop, with consistent time loss.Would it be possible to previously select at board level which add-ons should be added by default for guest editors when they enter the board?Thanks!

    Converge two branches of a mind map onto oneOpen

    Right now you can only diverge branches from a node. If you want two branches to converge on one you have to manually use a line connector to connect the second branch to the one you are converging on. This second branch made from a line connector also can’t be colour matched to branches, and doesn’t respond to the auto-alignment button (it means the line may overlap text and doesn’t respond in the same way as normal branches that generate off nodes.

    Anchor and bungee cordOpen

    Hi Amazing Miro Team,One thing my colleague and I would love for you to introduce is a way of quickly navigating back to where you just came from.We generally keep all of our research on the board that we design on (and often have lots of designs, flow charts, system models, etc. going on on the same board). We can be in the middle of designing something but need to quickly reference something elsewhere on our board.An awesome navigation device would be the ability to drop an anchor where we’re doing most of our work for the day and then as we navigate around the board for different reasons, be able to return back to that spot at the click of a button, like having a bungee cord attached to you when you go off roaming around.At the moment, there’s a lot of scrolling and zooming out and in in order to get back to the place you want be.It’s similar to the feature of following someone, in that you instantly get navigated to their location. If you could do this by pre-selecting a spot to return to, it would save a lot of faffing.Kindest regards,Si
