Hello,Loving the app so far. However, I’m realizing quickly that once I start creating a mind map tree, with multiple child items, I cant convert a normal text item to a card or shape (to enable tags for example). This means I will need to start over with only cards, but that process is not nearly as easy as the standard text items process. Por favor :)
today, video integration suffer from 2 limitations. 1/ secure video (not available with user login credential) will have no preview available, and you will see an ugly grey box with a play button on it.2/ when you play the video, it does not play it inside the board, but instead popup a lager box to play it, except for youtube videos that must have benefited from special treatment not available for regular developers. This proposal is to address 1/enrich embed widget with a new attribute called thumbnail. And allow plugins to populate it with string representing jpg or png to feed an <img src=”data:image/png;base64,iVBORw0KGgoAAAANSUhEUgAAADI...”>This way, there is no need for public access for miro backend to construct this preview, since it is provided at widget creation time by the app plugin, and this very user unfriendly limitation is lifted.
My students love using Miro, however sometimes work gets moved or deleted accidentally while we are all collaborating. I ask people to lock their work as they finish a section, but people naturally... forget.I understand one strength of collaboration is being able to move ideas around (both our own and others). However, in this context, my students would benefit from limited permission to be able to add ideas, move their content around, but not be able to edit/delete other participants’ work. Consider how Padlet separates permissions into 3 categories, not 2.Read, Write, and Edit.See the screenshot below from Padlet’s share settings:
Dear Miro-Community and Miro-Developers, Our Company was using miro also to share information with employees when they are at construction so they know where they are tomorrow. We did that in a team plan with a public board with was password protected. So far the data was save and everyone could access the board with his mobile device to watch the information which was displayed. Since this is the backlog, we can’t use this anymore. I wish that this function is available again. The Problem is we need the function and it is 50 % of the yield we have during usage of miro. Thank’s for noticing and with best regardsDaniel Spletzer
I wish we could type into multiple boxes at the same time by selecting them all together.
I love the infinite canvas feature in Miro and that one can even link elements between boards. What is disrupting my workflow is that it takes very long for me to load a Miro board (regardless of internet and web/desktop app). This is particularly true if I have created a very large board that is interrelated. A software feature that I would love to see is that in a case of a slow loading period, one can select a board that one wants to load first and already work on - the others would then be loaded “in the background” if working on the first board allows it. Instead of loading the whole board in one go, 90% of which I often do not use.
I love using Miro as an Evergreen Note Taking tool. The infinite visual canvas with rich features is something that no other app has been able to compete with for me. However, whenever I have a Eureka moment and want to add it to Miro, it takes ages for the Miro-app and then the board to load and once it is open I usually get distracted by rearranging elements on the board or reading previous notes. I long for just being able to add something new to the right frame without having to go this whole way each time. Thus, it would be great to have a “Quick Add” functionality: adding a sticky note/card to the board from a widget in Android or from a “console application” in Windows (eg. pressing Control+M anywhere and in any app). One could then organize that by writing the idea plus the board name with a @ or ! in front to designate the board. This would really smoothen the workflow and idea generation with Miro for me!
I recently created a story map, and wanted to convert the cards in the map to Jira issues. This was a painstaking process where I had to convert each card individually. There are workflow improvements I’d like to suggest:Remember the fields that I used in previous cards. If I select a card and convert it to a story, there’s a good chance that I’ll be converting the next one to a story, and the next, etc. I don’t want to have to tell the interface “no, it’s not an epic, it’s a story” 30 times. Same thing with other fields like priority - I’ll likely be setting these at the same priority as the previous story. At the very least, default to medium rather than highest. Allow me to bulk convert cards to stories. Descriptions get picked up from the card, so I don’t need to edit those. I could have converted a whole story map in one shot and saved myself 20 minutes of repetitive clicking. There’s a clear hierarchy between Epics, Stories, and Tasks. Let me convert my whole board into an epic, or a release into an epic, and then make the children of that into stories in that epic.
WhatIt would be nice to have the person who creates a Jira ticket via Miro to be the reporter, instead of the person who installed the plugin. SituationWhen you create a Jira ticket in Miro by default the user who set up the connection is the reporter. When you would do this directly in Jira the user creating the issue is the reporter. This is useful in case you have questions regarding the issue, you directly know who to contact. It is possible to change the reporter in Miro when creating the issue, however it would be really nice if this would be done automatically (the info could be extracted from the info of the Miro card).
What: Please either make Sticky Notes opaque or add transparency control. Why: Sometimes I put Sticky Notes over top of another Sticky Note, to mask the text on the Sticky Note below. However, Miro has decided that one should be able to see through Sticky Notes.NOTE: I need to resort to this technique as Miro does not offer native show/hide/flip Sticky Notes (another Idea). Sometimes I use @Vladislav Khodchenkov’s HideMan web-plugin, however, web-plugins are not available to board guests, so there’s yet another Idea The behaviour as of this post:
I often be disapointed not to be able to send pics, screenshots or other docs to Miro from the iOS menu: export or send to. To upload something to Miro you need to open the app and press upload button. For example, when browsing my photos i can send to facebook or email or dropbox with just one clics.
We’re designing a few apps in Sketch that have primarily white areas on the screen. It’d be great to add a border or drop shadow to synced screens from Sketch as they disappear on the white art board.[ Fully recognize the workaround is to either change the art board to a light gray and/or draw a rectangle around the screen. ]
It would be nice to be able to select and copy text on the board while in View of Comment mode. After the Design phase we want to share a link to the board in View or Comment mode with our developers. It would really help them to be able to copy text from the board instead of retyping it.
I use the Consultant plan - it´s really great for my efforts and a big plus for miro !But it´s awfull, that I can´t use my personal Templates with all my teams. Therefore I didn´t find a way to get it to my other customers - therfore the possiiblity for seperate Teams for seperate customers didn´t use anything. Because I´ve to build up the Templates for every customer new.
Hey,for me sometimes is very frustrating to have only the fixed Zoom Options, sometimes i would need not only 25% steps to get the optimal sight on my board. Often I have to choose if i want to have the overview, or if I would like to be able to read the details. But if there´s in option to scale individually, often it could be both...
