Make anything a dispenser

What if any object could have another basic property “isDispenser” - so that when the object (or group) was locked, a drag operation on the object/group would “dispense” a copy of the base object? (e.g. as if Alt-drag on Mac).  This would dramatically improve UX -- especially for novice users.
