Choose if new items are in foreground or background

As there is yet not any way to prevent users with edit rights from copying content in the same board,

it would be very helpful to have an option / setting for where to put new content, in front, or behind existing objects.

This way even if users copy content, you could make an overlay plane and new items simply would not be visible.

Hi @Bjoern Erik Ofner! Have you tried changing the board content permissions in your board?

@Robert Johnson did a really thorough walkthrough of it when it was out from beta last year:

https://community.miro.com/product-news-31/new-feature-board-content-copy-permissions-2499

Here's an official Miro guide:

https://help.miro.com/hc/en-us/articles/360018350399-Board-Content-Settings

"With the option to allow/restrict copying board content, you can share your beautiful boards as public templates with users outside your team and allow them to easily save shared boards to their own accounts. On the contrary, you can restrict the ability of your team members to duplicate your content."

Is this what you are looking for?

Hi @Henrik Ståhl,

yes, and I was full of hopes that these settings do exactly what I need, but if I understood it correctly its another use case.

With these settings, I can prevent others from duplicating my board and also prevent them from copying content from my board to another board.

Sadly it does not prevent them from copying content within my board.

If you are interested, my use case is here: https://community.miro.com/ask-the-community-45/set-if-new-items-are-pasted-in-front-or-in-background-7598
