Auto-Resize Frames option

For presentation and navigation purposes, I use frames around Kanban boards and Tables

The challenge with this approach is that as these frameworks grow – columns and rows for both Kanban and Tables – I am constantly having to resize the frames.

For the use case I have outlined, I would only expect frames to auto-expand based upon a growing Kanban or Table (or User Story Map), however, I could see the value in the frame auto-resizing to fit the size of the object(s) in it. Therefore, this should be a togglable option.

Added benefits of having Kanban or User Story Maps in a frame are that these frameworks inherit the background colour of the frame.

Yeah, I recently started using Miro (coming from FigJam/Figma), and this one little thing is super annoying. Makes organizing on boards feel messy. Even a simply “double-click” on the board’s edge would be perfect for this.

I found a duplicate request from a year ago as well: https://community.miro.com/ask-the-community-45/auto-resizing-frames-10822

Would love to see this. I just now realized that the odd line down the middle of my swimlanes is the edge of the frame because it doesn’t auto grow!

I believe this functionality may be coming soon as I caught a glimpse of a one of the new Format objects, but as with the title of Frame. For example, the new Diagram object (open the Command palette using Ctrl/Cmd + K and search for “diagram”) does auto-expand with content added.

This would be ideal. My use case is I have a grid within a frame. That grid may expand, so I would like the frame to auto-size. If it bumps into another frame it should push that frame out so that there’s less fiddling with frames where/when possible.

The diagram object does expand but it doesn’t add to a slideshow (which is a great feature of frames) so it’s not a 1:1 replacement for the frame option.

Yes! The option to automatically push other frames over on the board would be a really nice time saver. Idk if that should be a separate idea though.
