Timeline Widget Dependencies

Related products:Widgets

Currently the timeline widget is in beta so it is understandable that it would have some limitations. However it would be nice if the finalized version of the timeline would be able to have simple dependencies (FF, FS, SS, SF) from record to record and be able to have those dependencies has some sort of control over how those records move when dates change.

Was it helpful?

hi @Londynn Metten

Thanks so much for sharing your feedback on the Timeline widget. We appreciate it!

Should our team have any other questions, they will be sure to follow up.  For those coming across this idea, if you feel it's helpful to have or have additional suggestions, please be sure to vote for it and leave a comment about your use case to help our team scope this request.

I agree that the timeline widget would be far more functional and usable with simple ‘dependencies’ similar to what is used in project management software. Timelines shift and change and it is incredibly challenging to slide tasks manually. Once dependencies are set and the order of tasks is agreed upon, any timeline shifts should dynamically flow through the timeline.

Hi Miro! We absolutely support this idea from Implement Consulting Group. Timeline widget is amazing and we love the functionality of changing the format from table to timeline, grouping tasks in tracks and etc. It would be cool to have an option to visualise dependencies with connection lines in timeline view (similar to how you can connect cards in kanban). Hope it’s an easy fix and you will take it into consideration! Anastasia
