I have my own subscription yet when I log in I land in the Team of another company (to which I was invited). Three is no left sidebar with my profile/avatar (top or bottom left) to view team/workplace options. I do not want to leave the external company team as I need access to that company’s boards. Please advise,

It sounds like you may currently be landing directly inside the external company’s Team/workspace view, which can sometimes hide the usual sidebar navigation depending on the workspace setup or screen size.
Since you’d still like to retain access to that company’s boards, you do not need to leave their Team.
A few things you can try first:
Press the Miro logo/home button to return to the dashboard
Try opening: https://miro.com/app/dashboard/
Zoom out your browser window or maximize the screen
Try another browser/incognito window
Check whether the sidebar is collapsed/hidden
From the dashboard, you should normally be able to switch between workspaces/teams connected to your account.
If you still cannot access your own subscription/workspace or cannot see your profile/team switcher after trying the above, I’d recommend contacting Support, as they may need to review how your account memberships and workspace visibility are currently configured.
