Hello all,

I was editing a board today and my entire project timeline and all date is go9ne- I went to restore the element but it wasn't on the list like it had been deleted, i wondered if it was just being updated as others have mentioned but there's no sign of it - there were over 36 projects tracked and Im a bit worried!!

Anyone else had this?- it looks like I'll have to remake it but I can’t remember all the info!

Thanks

Was it helpful?

Hi @Niamh-12,

Thanks for reaching out! I can understand how concerning it must be to lose such important data.

It sounds like your timeline might have been impacted by an update or migration. While I can’t provide specifics right now, I’ve gone ahead and converted your post into a support ticket so the team can look into this issue and help you recover your project data.

In the meantime, if you have any other questions or need further assistance, feel free to let us know.

Dear @Niamh-12 and @ronja,

it seems I have experienced the same tragedy as you guys. I was working 5 hours on a detailed project plan and now everything is gone. I just added a final information and then everything disappeared. I can still see the timeline icon with its dropdown, the outline and some of the automatically generated GIRA stickers but the core info is “invisible”. Were you able to recover your data and now can share a solution?

@Eca, could you please add me to the list and help to fix this nightmare. Thank you in advance!

Best regards
Marc

Hi @Marc Mielau,

Thanks for jumping in on this thread!

As per the conversation with supports, they would like to know if the following action was done:

  • were there any error messages on your board and when you first noticed this issue?
  • Have you checked the Activity on the board and see if you can find some events there that could lead to this situation?
To open it, click the Main menu icon > Board > History:
    ?name=Oct-04-2024+18-26-36.gif

If the content are not recovered in the activity list, please let me know and I will convert your comment into a support ticket. You’ll need to share the URL link of the board where the issue was observed in the ticket thread.

I’ll be waiting for your response.

Miro has quietly removed guest access to editing timeline widgets—something that was previously available and essential to our team's workflow. This change wasn’t communicated and even breaks functionality in Microsoft Teams, leaving timelines stuck loading.

When reaching out to support, all I get is a canned response and no indication that Miro is going to change their policy on this.

Limiting collaboration behind a paywall undermines the inclusive, flexible environment Miro is known for. We ask the product team to reconsider this decision and restore timeline editing for guests—or at least offer a viable alternative. This shift may force us and others to rethink using Miro long-term.
