The old colors are gone

We recently updated Miro’s color palette as part of our new design language, and we know some of these changes may have been unexpected. The goal was to make colors more accessible, modern, and consistent— but we understand that if your board suddenly looks different, it can take some getting used to. 

Some colors have been adjusted to improve contrast and readability, making boards clearer and easier to work with. Plus, the new palette gives you more flexibility with a wider range of colors to choose from. 

That said, users can set any of the old colors that you miss as custom colors. The hex codes and instructions to do this are available here. 

We really appreciate your feedback and are keeping a close eye on how this impacts your 
experience. 🙏

Thank you for the response! The bigger variety pallet is an improvement. I do want to ask though, is there anyway to have both the old colors, and the new colors?

Glad to hear you like the expanded color palette! Currently, the older colors have been fully replaced to align with Miro’s updated design system, so there isn’t an option to bring them back alongside the new ones. That said, we appreciate the feedback, and I’ll make sure to pass it along to the team.

I don’t understand the new colors. The new red appears to be pink.

The previous Dark Green was pleasant. The new one is not.

These colors are important for decisions. (Red means no. Green means yes.) 

I have been a huge advocate for Miro at my organization. I use it daily. These changes, without the option of using the previous colors, are confusing and frustrating. 

I am very curious what about these new shades is more consistent and accessible. As to their being more modern, I don’t think this is a good reason.
