Private board of deleted user

Hey! I’ve deleted a user and transferred all of their boards to me. However I can’t see any of the private boards they had. Are they deleted with the user? Can I retrieve them and find them somewhere or are they gone forever?

@Dana Tileva - If, as you said, you chose to assign the user’s content to yourself, then you should be able to see them as you would be the new owner. And, if you accidentally chose the action to delete the user and their content, then the boards would still be in the Trash - have you looked there?

And… if you accidentally chose someone else as the new owner (or no one at all), the content should still have been assigned to another admin (if one exists). You may need everyone to look in their trash.

So even the private boards I couldn’t see before deleting their account are transferred to me? I don’t know the name of the boards so it would be hard to find them if that’s the case.

Correct.

Yes, this would be a challenge. One strategy you could implement to avoid this in the future is to make sure that all of your boards in are a Space (FKA Project). If they were, then you could filter your dashboard by boards “Owned by me” and that are “Not in a space”. I know this doesn’t help you know, but future you may thank one day.

You could also sort your dashboard by “Last opened” or “Last modified”, and perhaps this will help you identify the boards that you know you haven’t opened recently (assuming, that is, the “last opened” is determined by you, and not the last time anyone opened the board).
