Hi

Sometimes when I am writing on a board, the pencil suddenly stops writing. Earlier I thought that it was because of the pencil’s low battery because when I took another pencil, I was able to continue writing (maybe the correct term is ‘stylus’ instead of pencil?).

But today one of my pupils had the same problem on her iPad. Writing in GoodNotes worked fine though. So we used an alternative for Miro and worked there.

Do you know that problem?

Hi @OleZ, thanks for raising this!

We’ve seen some reports where stylus input (Apple Pencil or similar) can intermittently stop responding in the Miro app, even though it works fine in other apps like GoodNotes. A few things you can try:

  • Restart the Miro app and reopen the board — this often restores stylus input.

  • Update the Miro app to the latest version from the App Store (we regularly release fixes for iPad + Apple Pencil compatibility).

  • Check iOS/iPadOS version and install any available updates.

  • If possible, test with touch input (finger) when the pencil stops working — this helps confirm if it’s only the stylus affected.

  • If the issue repeats, could you let us know:

    • Your iPad model + iOS/iPadOS version

    • Miro app version

    • Whether the issue happens only in certain boards or all boards

This info will help our team investigate further.
