Password-Protected Board with Anonymous, Real-Time Visitors

I need to create a private, password-protected board where visitors (who do not have a Miro account) can join anonymously to write on and add Sticky Notes and use Voting dots, for a meeting activity.

It's meant to be a live, virtual, confidential space so that all users can visibly see what people are writing in real-time, but cannot know the author of comments. This is likely a one-time event.

Question #1: If I upgrade my free account to a Starter paid-level, will I have all the functionality to do this?

Question #2: Could you provide me with the specific settings I would need to enable on this new board for my use case, described above? And, any other tips or considerations?

Thank you so much!

HI @djs456

Thanks for your question!

1. Starter Plan
Upgrading to the Starter Plan will allow you to run this session with anonymous participants who can edit, add sticky notes, and use voting. You may check this article to know more about what tools visitors can use.

2. Setup

  • Go to Share
  • Set “Anyone with the link” → Editor
  • Set up your password

  • Do not invite via email (to keep users anonymous) Participants will join as anonymous guests, so their inputs won’t be tied to their identity.

Let us know if you need help setting it up.
