I’m a beginner here, and looking for the best template to use to create a virtual bulletin board / pinboard! Any suggestions of support very much appreciated!

@SophieMatch123 -

There are tons of ways in which this could be set up and lots of possible templates on Miroverse which might be a fit, so could you provide more context about the nature of the content you’d be posting on the board?

Kiron

Hey Kiron!

Thanks so much for your reply.

So we’d like to make an Impact Bulletin Board that highlights exciting things going on within our community of impact organisations/charities/non profits. This could be split into events and webinars, being mentioned in the news/on tv/in articles, any ‘fun stuff’ e.g ‘how sustainable are you’ quiz, and good news stories. Those would be the 4 main topics then we’d add different content every month :)

Thanks,

Sophie

While there are many ways to structure this type of content, at its simplest it would be a set of frames with each frame containing one of the four main topics. Where you can make it “pop” is to have a layout which captures the essence of the community itself.

Something like this template would look great (https://miro.com/miroverse/session-template/) - you’d use something different than a spaceship theme, perhaps a diorama or image of individuals or a group being helped by a non profit.

@SophieMatch123 -  Here’s how I have structured a board with a similar idea in the past.

  1. Created Frames.
  2. Used the Copy link feature to get a link to the frame.
  3. Linked to those Frames in the Visual Notes panel.
  4. Pinned the Visual Notes panel to open for all participants when they open the board.

Here’s a visual:

It would be nice to be able to force the Frames panel to launch, so I created this Wish List idea post:

Hi Kiron and Robert,

All of this information and your ideas are great. Thank you so much for your help and I’ll be creating a template incorporating all of this!

Best wishes,

Sophie
