Hi!

I’d like to create a Master board with a load of modular template content. Then I’d like to create other boards that can grab the modular content from the Master board. Then when the Master content is updated it propagates to the other boards. Is this possible? I’ve probably described this very badly :-D

Hi @Ben Blethyn,

Thanks for your question! I can definitely help clarify this.

While you can't directly link content between boards in Miro (like a live, automatic sync of content from one board to others), there are a few ways to achieve something similar:

  1. Embed Board Links: You can add links to other boards within your master board. This won't sync content, but it allows you to quickly access those boards from a central location.

  2. Use Templates: If you're working with reusable content, you can create templates for your master board, which can then be copied into other boards. However, updates made to the master template won't automatically reflect on the boards that used it.

  3. Miro's API: For more advanced users, there might be a way to automate some of this using Miro's API, although this would require some custom coding to ensure updates to the master content propagate to other boards.

Unfortunately, there isn't a native, automatic propagation feature between boards at this time. If this functionality would be useful to you, it could be worth submitting feedback to the Miro team for future improvements.

Let me know if you have any further questions or need more details!

Thanks for the info Eca!

I actually have all this up and running nicely now as it looks like Miro has added some new functionality that allows you to simply copy a frame from one board to another and Miro will keep the copied frame and its contents synced with the original.

In this way I now have a Master board with all the components the team needs and they can grab whatever frames they need for their boards. I can keep everything up to date on the Master board and it all works lovely :-)
