Is anyone else unable to close the Templates pane on the left in either the app or browser?

I am sharing my screen and really don't need my students seeing all of my boards. Not sure if this is a bug or a “feature”. I am on a paid plan.

HI @Kimberly Poremski thanks for reporting this!

Could you share a screenshot or short screen recording showing the Templates pane and what happens when you try to close it? This will help us better understand the issue.

@Kimberly Poremski If you are referring to the left sidebar that lists Spaces/boards, this is called the Spaces sidebar.

The only way to stop the sidebar from opening on every board load is to keep the board outside a Space.

Some context: when the Simplified UI/Spaces dashboard launched in August 2024, the sidebar opened on every load, likely as a nudge to get people familiar with the feature. Around November 2024, Miro began persisting the user’s choice, so closing it once kept it closed. The 2026 update brought back the always-open behavior without that preference, so it looks like we’re in another nudge phase.

Not sure if this is the same issue I am facing.

This menu bar now seems to just be there all the time for me, sure it wasn’t there the other day. It really hinders what I can see on the miro board when I split my screen view with another browser window. It can’t be minimised beyond this and I can’t find out how to hide/remove it.

Any help is appreciated.
