How can I insert an intermediate step in a mindmap? I already have a wide map with various branches now I like to subdivide and insert a subtopic. The image shows exemplary my problem. One annoying approach would be to create a new branch and write each step again… I guess you have some smarter solution?
I appreciate your comments and support.

Hi @Max Krause. I think I found a workaround.
First, some terminology:
Root - the main/centre part of the Mind Map.
Parent - all first level branches that are connected directly to the Root.
Child - all subsequent nodes that are connected to a Parent.
You can:
Create a new Parent, e.g., Subtopic.
Select your “A” Child.
Do a copy-and-paste of your “A” Child node (Ctrl + C, Ctrl + V).
And then, while holding the Ctrl key, click-and-drag the new/copied “A” node and attach it to your new “Subtopic” Parent.
Finally, select and delete the old “A” parent node.
Here’s a quick video of it:
(in the last part, it is cut off where I scrolled down to the delete the Parent “A” node - you can just press Delete on the keyboard too):
To help drive future development, I encourage you to check out and vote for a number of the Mind Map Wish List posts.
Hi @Rob Johnson.
