How do you select an object under another object?

I am trying to select a circle that is behind an icon. Is there a quick way to select the circle? Similar to Illustrator?

I am also wondering if there is an easy way!

Some workarounds @Abe Froman.

  • select the object on top and press PgDn (WIN) or fn + ↓ or PgDn (MAC) to send it to the back. Now you should be able to select the one that was in the back.
  • select both objects wit the mouse and than chose “shape” in the filter-dropdown. Now you can move it. (only works if the objects are different. For exapmle shapes and icons)

Thanks for the quick response. I currently do the first option you mention. I really like the second one. Thanks for the insight. How nice if you could use option or control with a click and get to buried objects.

I agree that this can be a source of frustration from time to time. The second alternative is usually my go-to workaround when applicable, but it would make our lives so much easier to have multiple layers and some sort of selector. 😅
