Feedback on Mobile App Experience and a few other things.

TheNameBrand

Okay!

My first item of business is: I created this post once before, but after editing out some grammar mistakes I found, the entire thing was deleted off of the face of the site. Now, it won’t even let me post this to the wish list idea side of the site. Which is a bummer… can someone move my post over there? I’ll be brief:

Had to use the mobile app the other day. Wanted to throw out there that I think adding focus mode to the app would be really helpful and much less clunky.

To build on that idea, I think it would be really cool if on the board page / home dashboard, there was a dropdown for all my boards that would list doc elements contained within them. Then when you click them it could just open focus mode of that document. Making it even easier for mobile. Figure this could be expanded further on the dash specifically to make it easy to duplicate or move docs between your boards. Maybe even frames.

Building on that even further, I think the ultimate way to access a doc would be through a widget on android. Have a quick thought, swipe to a page on your homescreen, unload the thought, and it syncs with the doc on the board. Could have a few different widget types that do this or connect with different doc types.

I think the main thing though is a focus mode. It desperately needs it if I’m to be productive with just my phone and a little bluetooth keyboard.

One extra thought I had, unrelated to this: I really think there should be an option to always display comments (on documents specifically). I like the idea of having a commented up doc with a bunch of comment bubbles flying off of it. It might look a little chaotic, but the point would be to be able to see the comments without having to click on them individually. Could move or reposition them in canvas space but they’d always be connected to those words. When you’re editing a doc, the feedback, or note, can be important, and the comment indicator for me, doesn’t call enough attention to itself. Right now, I achieve this functionality in a very janky way by using arrows directly on the document, but if I change one word, the whole thing gets messed up. One simple change to comments and I wouldn’t have to do that.

Happy to take a call with the Miro product team anytime about these ideas, or anything else they may have in mind. Just ping me at the email associated with this account. Thanks.

Was it helpful?

HI @TheNameBrand, Thanks for reaching out!

Sorry to hear about the issue with your original post—it’s frustrating to lose your writing, especially when you've taken the time to polish it.

To help our product team better review and track each request, would you mind sharing your ideas as separate posts, one per topic (e.g. focus mode, widgets, always-visible comments, etc.)? That way, we can give each suggestion the attention it deserves and more easily follow up as things evolve.

I’ve already flagged this thread for the team, but if you’re up for reposting your ideas individually, we’d really appreciate it!

Thanks again for your passion and for helping us shape the future of Miro 🙌
