I am trying to create a process roadmap using the proper templates however I want to add a sub process to each, is there a way in swimlane or product roadmap templates where I can create that and make the sub processes shrink or collapse to save space where the main processes are in focus?

I don’t believe you can expand or contract swimlanes, but you could use Miro’s Link capability to link from a box in one swimlane diagram to a whole separate swimlane diagram.
