Coming from AWW App

I came from using AWWP, and when I was on AWWP, we were able to make new pages

I’m using Miro for teaching purposes, and It’s hard to put all the pages within one board.

Is there a way to make multiple pages within the board?

Hi everyone,
Welcome to Miro and Miro Community! :raised_hands_tone2:

I’m so sorry you have to switch to a completely new tool and experience these difficulties. This is always a challenge. And Miro is indeed a more complex tool.

I wanted to jump in and let you know that we also have Miro Lite. This is a simpler version of the online whiteboard that you can use without signing up or signing in. Just go to miro.com/lite, create a board, and share the link with your team.
:warning:  Please check out the Help Center article to learn all the specifics of Miro Lite.

As for the case with new/separate pages, there’s no this exact functionality in Miro, but we suggest you simply create several boards. Frames can also work here, but please note that frames are not available in Miro Lite.

I hope this is helpful!

During an hour I may need 10+ pages and so that many boards. How could I and others quickly and simultaneously navigatge back and forward through various boards during a session?

I also need separate pages. I am an online tutor. With private clients, I can assign each one their own unique board and then add a new page for each session. Right now while trying out Miro, we have to find our way to the same place on the board for each new session. It’s simply messy and confusing.

I also offer drop-in online office hours sessions. I currently have to work with all the students on the same board rather than being able to create a new page for each student who comes to the session. Again, it’s messy and confusing.

As a former AWW user, I am on a free trial of Miro, though I did sign up for one of the upgraded plans to take effect later. I will finish out this school year on this platform, but I will find another for next year if the ability to add new pages within a single board is not added.

Oh my goodness.  This is so much more complicated than the AWW whiteboard app.  I think I will be looking for a new platform to use.  If any of you former AWW app users have suggestions, please share.

Scribblar is the closest I’ve found. Still missing several of AWWapp’s best features but works better than Miro for my purposes.

Thank you for this suggestion. I am a former AWW user and I’m trying Miro now while they’re offering a free trial. I’ve written elsewhere on the thread why I need separate pages for my tutoring students. I will check this one out!

@whoever on the scribblar testing:

Really?

  • No stickies
  • no roalty-free pictures like unsplash inside
  • no icons / symbols
  • no arrows
  • no app-integration
  • no grouping
  • not possible to connect the elements together
  • not possible to choose the pages of a document
(if I have a 60 Site PDF-file the whole document is been uploaded. When I only want to have page 5-8 I have to delete every other created site )

I take only the point fo the unsplash/icons/symbol thing:

Of course you can go onto the unsplash webpage seperately but allone this integration saves a lot of time.

Pictures are so important in my lessons / trainings / classes / to show something.

In former times i have spent a whole lot of money to buy pictures to implement them in my PPT-Slides.

I never ever have to take care about this …

I never ever have to leave my platform to open a seperate webpage

safe the file onto my computer and upload it into my board

same with icons/symbols

I know that you all like to have this - The answer for this is very simple:

Vote for this wish - so maybe in the future you / we will see this:

Wow, thank you very much Paul!

I was looking for an alternative to AWWapp for so long but I didn’t find scribblar. I did a very quick test only, but I think it will work for me. I only need the basic stuff: writing pen, upload jpg/png/pdf, multiple pages, guest doesn’t have to sign in to use the board

The pages on scribblar are not unlimited but limited multiplie pages are way better for me than a single unlimited page (with frames).

OK, one bigger problem is the price.

I have been using the AWW app for over a year to create interactive lessons for my students with special needs.  One of the features of AWW I really liked was having multiple pages within one board, so I could direct the student to click over to page 3 etc.  Is this possible within MIRO?  I chose AWW initially because none of the other “simplified” white boards would allow me to upload images as backgrounds for the students to work on.  MIRO is much more complicated, and I’m not sure it’s going to work for me and my students. I’m feeling pretty disappointed.

Mural may be a simpler tool for the student.

Did anybody find anything similar to AWW or are Miro taking onboard the above comments in order to attract former AWW users?
