When inserting/pasting images, there are currently no modifications of such objects possible, besides resizing them (with locked AR as stated here).

I wish Miro would allow to modify an inserted image’s…

  • Border
(add border, set border color, change border thickness)
  • Opacity
  • Cropping → just realised this has been added recently!  :tada:

+1

I can’t imagine these capabilities haven’t been added yet!

Opacity for sure!!

Would love to see some basic brightness/contrast adjustments as we are often uploading images of paper taken with phones.

Multiply opacity feature would be amazing.

.png images come with a white background even when exported without one, which can be annoying.
Would also help when uploading sketches to get rid of the paper opacity and create nicer ideation boards.

+1 on this, and would also love to be able to do some masking on the image, freehand and by gradient 🙏

These seem like useful quick wins, since the capabilities already exist for other object types.

I’m not sure if this would be an appropriate addition as a part of this feature, but I’d like the ability to group a set of images (or a text label and image), and the resize/alignment/sort functions treat the group as a single image.

This would be enormously useful, as often I work with groups of images, or at the very least and image with a label. When I need to add another one, and rearrange, it can cause significant problems unless they’re all just single images, with no text/labels.

I don’t know if I am misunderstanding the post but that already happens. If I put a bunch of objects on a board then select them I can resize together and it keeps the same relative ratios/sizing. I just did this with a text and an image and it seems to work as expected.

before resize
after resize

I just selected the label and image and dragged to resize. Seems to work?

Apologies if I have misunderstood the need.

I came here to add a saturation/desaturation option too. I can’t find an equivalent idea which includes that.

Thanks for the suggestion! It doesn’t quite work properly if I have multiple images with labels, arrange them in rows and columns, then alter the height of the whole selection (the spacing)… The text/labels don’t stay locked in place with the image and don’t align properly. Definitely hard to explain in writing, so some images below... but yea. It has some functionality, but some rearranging/re-spacing functions seem to break the link with the grouped objects and the changes to the overall selection shape affect some of the individual elements within the groups individually.

original
spacing changed horizontally (rectangle stretched with the respacing and alignment off)
spacing changed vertically (to the extreme, to show the rectangle backer also resized independently)

* note - each image/shape/text was grouped individually prior to rearranging

Hi all, following up on this Wish List request to share an exciting update!

The abiility to crop an image and add a border to an image is currently available in Miro. Additionally, Miro has recently released a new integration with Adobe Express that allows users to have even more image editing options directly within their Miro board. This functionality is currently available in a beta state. You can learn more about this by reading the
Adobe Express documentation in the Miro Help Center.

With this mind we are updating the status of this request to Beta. We will update the status again when this integration moves out of Beta and is fully delivered. Thanks @OliverR  for taking the time to submit this request!
