Manually insert URL preview data or fetch them using my local browser

When I paste URLs, Miro tries to fetch metadata and an image from the page to display a preview. If it fails, the link appears as plain hyperlink text. I’d like to have the option to manually provide the preview data in such cases.

I assume that some websites are not accessible from Miro’s servers (e.g., Allegro.pl), which prevents previews from appearing on a board. In these cases, I’d like Miro to use my local browser (which can access the site) to fetch the metadata.

One way to achieve this could be through a Miro browser extension that, among other features, fetches preview data on my behalf.

Alternatively, when using the desktop version, Miro could use an embedded browser (headless, without a window) to fetch preview data directly from my machine.

I’m open to install something additional to solve this problem—it's really frustrating not to have previews for certain links.

Was it helpful?
