Timeline for ongoing projects with no known end date

I’m loving the timeline/table feature! I’m not finding some features that I am hoping are here or that are on the roadmap:

  1. I have some projects with defined start and end dates but some projects are evergreen (no known end date) and I’d like them to show up as ongoing in the timeline. I’m band aiding this  by setting a date way out in the future but it is tideous and doesn’t seem like a realistic solve for high volume timelines.
  2. Related to this, is there a way to copy and paste and end date -- or even just manually type in a date? I’m currently clicking, clicking, clicking and it seems their has to be a better way.
  3. Is there a way to set milestones within a specific entry/iniative? I’m using the milestone for my full time for things like fiscal calendar, etc but there are a lot of initiative specific milestones I’d like to add on a specific row/entry?
Was it helpful?

Hi @Kellan.Anderson,

Thanks for sharing your feedback and for your kind words about the timeline/table feature! 😊

Right now, setting a far-off end date is the best workaround for ongoing projects, but I see how that could be tedious for high-volume timelines. Your idea of marking projects as "ongoing" without a set end date is valuable—I'd recommend adding it to the Miro Wish List so the product team can consider it!

As for copying and pasting or manually typing in an end date, I agree that a quicker way to do this would be helpful. Currently, the date picker doesn't support direct typing, but I’ll pass along your feedback to the team.

For initiative-specific milestones, a possible workaround could be using color-coded tags, notes, or separate timeline entries for key initiative milestones. But I’d love to hear more about how you'd like this to work!

Let me know if you have any other thoughts, and thanks again for your feedback! 😊
