Can't replace my team admin to another member

Hi all,

How can I change my admin rights to another in Teams?

I’m leaving the team and have lots of boards that the rest of the team don’t want to loose if I left without replacing my admin rights to another in the team. Can you please help?

Hi @Rickn,

Thanks for reaching out!

You can do this in 2 ways.

  1.  assign a Team Admin role
  • Go to your Team settings, Click on Team users. Click the three dots next to the user you wish to take over your role and choose Grant Team Admin.

  1. Leave the team
  • In the team settings > team profile, click the leave button and assign which among the current members will take the Admin role

Hope this helps!

Thank you! It did help. The only option I was able to use was leaving the Team and assigning someone else to it. Thanks again 🙏🏽

As a note to other readers, if you are using an Education Plan, there can only be one Team Admin, so the only way for you to assign a new admin is to leave the team.
