Timer is working, but music is not


Hi!  I am running the timer with music selected.  It is unmuted.  In the past I could hear music while presenting, but it suddenly stopped.  I have a few team members this has also happened to, but we have not been able to find a setting to fix it.  Has anyone run into this and found a solution?

Hi I was having the same problem but I fixed it by making the board public

@BethKnight, did you ever find a solution to this? 

I am having the same problem and this appears to be the only place anybody is talking about it.

@smcintyre unfortunately I have not. 


Same problem here. Timer used to play music, but now can’t get music to play. Press the play button etc. and it looks like it should be playing but no sound for anyone. Same result several times with different people in the team.

It’s been a year since the last comment by the looks - has there been a fix to this by chance?

My colleague has come across the same challenge where the timer works but there is no music, he hasn’t muted it and the actual chrome tab isn’t muted so it seems to be within Miro

Thanks for following up on this! I just tested the timer music on my end, and it seems to be working as expected. Since your colleague is still experiencing the issue, here are a few things they could check:

  • Try a different browser or the Miro app – This can help rule out any browser-specific issues.

  • Check browser permissions – Ensure that Miro has permission to play audio (you can check this by clicking the lock icon in the browser’s address bar).

  • Test on a fresh board – If the issue is board-specific, this might help determine if something within the board setup is affecting playback.

  • Disable browser extensions – Some extensions (especially privacy or ad blockers) might interfere with audio playback.

Could you also confirm if the issue is happening on your end as well? If yes, are you and your colleague on the same board or not when the issue happened? If the problem persists, could you please share a short video demonstrating the issue to investigate further?
