Hi! Is there a way of reducing the number of dots in the dot voting widget? Or can you not change it from the default 6 dots?

And it would be useful to be able to label them too.

Hi @Joanna Heijmer-Mason

Currently, the default number of dots in the Dot Voting widget is set to 6, and there's no built-in option to change that number. However, I can see how adjusting the number of dots and adding labels would be useful!

  • Would you like to increase or decrease the number of dots per person?
  • Are you looking for different colors or categories for the dots, or just text labels?
  • How do you currently work around this limitation?

Your feedback is valuable. Let me know how I can help! 😊

I’d like to have the option to adjust the number of dots (either increase or decrease).

I would like text labels to be a removable option. I don’t always need them but they are sometimes useful to bring clarity, e.g. by adding names to colours of dots.

At the moment, I add text labels next to the dots with arrows and place a box over the superfluous dots and lock it so the participants don’t see or use them. Or I just don’t use this widget and recreate it manually.

Hi @Joanna Heijmer-Mason,

Thanks for sharing your detailed feedback! I can see how having adjustable dot quantities and optional text labels would make the Dot Voting widget more flexible. It’s great to hear about your workarounds, and I appreciate you taking the time to describe them!

If you haven’t already, I’d recommend checking out the Miro Wishlist and submit your idea there so others can vote on it! 😊

Let me know if you need help with anything else!
