Spreadsheet (google or MS) to Fields in Miro Board
Hi Team,
Long time user, first time asker, Looking for a way to make it easier for me to take a lengthy spreadsheet with simple 2 column data to fields in a miro board. We often have customers provide is lists of their enterprise systems, I am looking for a way to map the system and name from the spreadsheet into a specific place on the miro board. How could that be accomplished?

The easiest way to accomplish this would be to copy your two-column spreadsheet and paste it directly into a Miro table or as sticky notes.
To map your “system” and “name” columns from a spreadsheet (Google Sheets or Excel) into specific fields on a Miro board, follow these steps:
Open your spreadsheet and select the two columns of data you want to import.
Copy the selected cells (Ctrl+C or Cmd+C).
In your Miro board, either:
Paste directly onto the board: This will give you the option to create sticky notes for each row, with each cell becoming a separate sticky note.
Paste into a Miro Table: First, create a table on your Miro board. Click into the first cell, then paste (Ctrl+V or Cmd+V). The data will fill the table, matching your spreadsheet’s structure.
This method works for both Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel. If you want the data to remain editable and in table format, use the Miro Table option. If you want each entry as a sticky note (for brainstorming or mapping), paste directly onto the board.
Hello SIdhant,
Thank you for your reply.
My goal is to find an automated way to take every row and cell and have them auto-match to an area in the miro board.
We offer enterprise assessments to our prospects where we provide them a spreadsheet that asks them questions about all of their enterprise systems (see sample below). My issue is that we are often provided over 100 enterprise systems that we then have to hand-transfer into a miro board area matching the column on the left for the enterprise system.
I was hoping to find a way to automate having the spreadsheet fields match up to miro board areas where the data from the sheet could be automagically dropped into the miro board area (see below):
Some way to link a miro board object to a spreadsheet field data. I know it’s a long shot, but it would save me a lot of time as we often do 30-50 of these enterprise assessments a year.
Thank you for the detailed explanation. This is a great use case, and I can see how automating this workflow would save a significant amount of time across your enterprise assessments.
At present, it’s not possible to automatically map spreadsheet fields from Excel directly into Miro board areas in the format you’ve described. The current functionality does not support auto-matching data from a spreadsheet to specific board templates or objects.
As a workaround, one option you might consider is using tables in Miro. These allow you to paste spreadsheet data directly into a board, where you can apply filters and create synced copies to surface and manage information more efficiently across different views or areas of the board. While not fully automated, this approach can streamline some of the manual effort involved. Attached screenshots and a help center link to the tables functionality in Miro.
I’d also highly encourage you to submit this idea to our Miro Ideas Portal. Submitting it there ensures it’s visible to our product team and helps us prioritize feature development based on real-world needs like yours.
Best,
Sid
