Good morning Miro Community!

I saw that it is possible to export a Miro table into Excel easily. This is great, but I want to know if there is more Miro can support!

  1. If there is a way to do this the other way around; Excel table export to Miro table.
  2. If there is a way to Live update an Excel table with real time info from the Miro table.
  3. If there is a way to Live update a Miro table with real time info from the Excel table.

I hope someone can answer these questions, thanks already!

Kind regards,

Ronald Molenaar

@Ronald Molenaar -

  1. You can upload an MS Excel file into Miro using the standard upload file tool. This will give you a view only version of the spreadsheet in Miro. You can also select a bunch of cells in the Excel spreadsheet, copy them and then paste them in to Miro - this will create sticky notes from them.
  2. Unfortunately, there is no dynamic data sync capability between Excel and Miro. There is a wish list idea previously entered for something similar which you can upvote here: https://community.miro.com/wish-list-32/two-way-live-data-connection-3175

Hi @jwitth

Thanks for your message — and no worries about posting in the wrong thread!

To clarify: Miro does not currently support live syncing or linking with Excel. That includes importing structured Excel data into Miro tables or keeping them updated in real time.

As a workaround, you can use Google Sheets instead:

  • Miro allows you to embed a Google Sheet directly into your board.

  • The sheet will remain live and editable, so changes made in the Google Sheet will reflect immediately within Miro.

  • This provides a similar experience to real-time syncing, and your team can collaborate on the data directly from the board.

If Excel support is critical for your workflow, we recommend submitting or upvoting a request in the Miro Wish List. This helps our product team prioritize user needs.

Here’s one to upvote directly:

Thank you for your response! Just to clarify, what does the Excel tool option listed in Miro do? My understanding was it would display a static “image” of the content in the Excel file.
